This is a campground for extended RV camping not for travelers passing through. The cabins and tent/popup campers may have more turnover. I felt as if I was in a trailor park. However, front desk, obviously staffed by the extended campers, was always polite and helpful.

Cabins are basic, 1 double bed and a set of bunk beds. They rent for about $55/night, which is well worth it especially during bad weather. We reserved our cabin about 4 weeks in advance but the couple in the cabin next to us called 2 days before arrival and was able to reserve one. If you're able to get... More

We had a great weekend with my husband and son staying in one of the cabins. This was our first foray into "camping" of sorts for a while so we came prepared. The cabins were wonderful and I was glad that my husband insisted on booking it instead of us tent camping. The day we arrived, it was rainy all... More

Park in nice condition, but creek side spots tight. Had Tent Camper in the RV section next to us blasting Music until 330 am. I called Office leaving a voicemail around 230 am, with the loud Music in the background. Girlfriend stopped in Office in the Morning to complain and was told I will make a note of that. No... More

We have stayed here two years in a row and both visits have been exceptionally nice. The staff is kind and humorous and make you feel at home. We have stayed at site 24 twice and it is lovely, right on the creek and conveniently located near the bathhouse. The sites along the creek are perfect for a popup sized... More

A group of us rented 4 cabins in the back corner of the campground. It was like our own private land! The log cabins were cozier than expected. The kids enjoyed the stream, even though the water was rather frigid and the large field to run around in. The bath house was well maintained and cleaner than others I've stayed... More

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in cabin #1 which was very nice (especially for the price), and the bathrooms were very clean for a campground. It was one of the nicer campgrounds we have been to. We will defanetly be coming back.

My wife and I visited Flintlock for one night just to get away from the norm. We ended up in cabin 1 which was arranged by a very nice employee named Sam. All I can say is !!!WOW!!! The cabin is basically brand new and spotless and smells of cedar :) and is a dream spot. We can't wait to... More

A buddy and myself recently traveled to the Boone, NC area to do a little fishing and I made confirmed reservations at the Flintlock Campground. Although this campground has some nice qualities such as a playground for children, I must admit that it was a mistake for us to spend our money at this location. Traffic is very loud with... More

Very close to downtown. Level campsites, many permanent. Very little in the camp store, but nice staff. Lots of campsites are on the talkative stream. Cute little cabins are available. Close to all the things someone goes to the mountains for; the Blue Ridge Parkway with its gorgeous vistas and great hiking trails, plus shopping and restaurants.
