We tent camped in Boone to escape the heat in FL and the KOA bathrooms were dirty, tent sites were next to the road quite loud and staff most have been college students(missing in action and not very helpful or friendly). We did meet some really nice people: a solo mountain biker, retirees who shared home made breakfast with us... More

The site was OK - it has all you would want - small shop/reception, pool, laundry, wifi etc. We stayed in a cabin and in comparison to other KOA's it was a bit disappointing. We are used to rustic living whilst travelling around, but the cabin could have done with a good clean in the corners. Don't think we will... More

Would love to say thanks to all the staff and owners at the koa!!! We did a last minute camping trip with our 5 kids and had a blast. Everything was so clean and easy. The kids had fun feeding the animals while we enjoyed the band on sat!! Hopefully we will be seeing you all again soon;)

We decided on a mid-week getaway. Tuesday through Friday. We chose Boone KOA because it was out in the boonies but close to attractions. Only about 10 minutes from downtown Boone and 15 minutes from Blowing Rock. This is a quite, secluded campground that is really well kept. The camp sites are tight but no big problem. We are used... Decided to get away and visit the mountains for the day. Have stayed at this campground before and was glad there was still a cabin available. My sister and I brought our dogs and enjoys a nice evening by the campfire. Only downside for me but maybe not others was the wifi was weak and hard to get on. Some... More

Roads in are what one could expect high in the mountains, tight and winding. Bring your leveling blocks, sites were a bit narrow for a 30' TT but manageable. Not much room, their picnic table, our two camp chairs and the fire ring filled all available space. I didn't notice any of the usual KOA stuff for the kids, but... More

When and if we ever come back this way, we will find somewhere else to stay. After 2 days, I still haven't found the view. The sites are SO unlevel. The laundry facility is very inconvenient. The staff is friendly at check-in and then don't acknowledge you the next day.

Most sites are very tight. The sewer is in a awkward spot. We had to straddle it in order to jockey our 5th wheel into the space. No cable and only 1 network channel available without a satellite. They do have a playground, book and DVD exchange, and WiFi in the office. All in all, not up to KOA's standards.

Well kept campground. Playground was nice for the kids. The outdoor pool is kept at approximately 80 degrees (not sure about during the warmer months) and is well kept. Lobby area is nice with games and a store to buy pick up things/items if needed. The power at our site would kick, with just the hair dryer and refrigerator running.... More

Certainly one of the best KOA campgrounds we have been in. Reasonable space between sites, very scenic and very friendly. They even have goats and chickens for the kids to see we would definitely stay again when visiting this part of the country
