I had reservations at Hillwinds Inn in Blowing Rock, NC this past weekend 1/22-1/24 during the worst snow and ice storm that we have had in a long time. Due to the weather we could not possibly get to Blowing Rock. I called for two days getting no answer and leaving voice mails to cancel and reschedule. Only after our... More

We had a wonderful girls weekend in Blowing Rock at the Hill winds Inn. Our rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. Breakfast left a bit to be desired (had trouble finding coffee) and the walls were pretty thin (which became a problem as we stayed up late to reminisce and ended up waking up fellow guests). Also, the... More

This location did not live up to our expectations. I will not stay there in the future. 1. The room was clean. 2. The bathroom is small. The hot water did not last for two people to take a shower without a short waiting period. FYI my shower never last more than 5 minutes. 3. The staff was not eager... More

Our first time staying here. Nice large room, comfortable beds, coffee in the room, simple breakfast and wine and pickies at night! What more could you ask. Katie was very helpful plus a young man in the AM. was nice. Another gal must have been having a bad day.... Even though it is pet friendly , they have all those... More

We stayed in Blowing Rock over 2 weeks and had a very enjoyable time at the Hillwinds. A continental breakfast was fine and promptly served every morning. The 5:00 happy hour was also a nice treat and gave us the opportunity to meet other guests. The staff was superb, especially Josh who was very professional and helped us immensely during... More

My husband and I decided at the last minute to take a trip to Blowing Rock over the Labor Day weekend. Since we wanted to include our dog, our choices were limited. We were so pleased to find Hillwinds Inn. They were so very helpful and accommodating. (Especially Lindsey!) Since we had waited until the last minute to book our... More

We made our reservations only days in advance and we were thrilled to learn that Hillwinds is pet friendly to well manored dogs. The room and amenities, refrigerator, microwave and kurig type coffee maker were high quality and the beds were extremely comfortable. Happy hour with wine and snacks in the evening and continental breakfast in the morning and easy... More

We spent one night at the "Inn." It was quaint, but more of a motel than an Inn. Originally made onkine reservation for Village Inn, then received a phine call from them saying they overbooked and wanted to move us to Hillwinds Inn for same price, but smaller beds! I asked for a discount and was given $10.00 off. When... More

We stayed 1 night in this charming Inn on Aug.3, 2015to escape the heat and enjoy the clean mountain air. It was our second trip to the area, first time staying at the Inn. If and when we come back we would stay again for sure. Very clean, quaint and walking distance to town. Great breakfast is also a plus.

Very nice clean room for an older establishment. Close to downtown (within walking distance) and all the activities! Great variety of breakfast items. Easy check in and out. Price seemed alittle high but comparing other locations it goes with what the area allows.
