We stayed one night in the Tarheel Suite. It was okay but needed updating, we did not think it was worth the extra money. No coffee maker in the room which we thought was unusual. Not the romantic setting that we were hoping for.

Hillwinds Inn is a classic motel layout, with a row of rooms opening directly onto the car park. We stayed for one night in room 115. This room needs refurbishment. The carpet was stained and looked dirty, all the paintwork was badly worn and chipped and the lampshades very dusty. There was a 4-way extension hanging off a wall socket...

This was our second trip to Blowing Rock. We enjoyed this motel more than one of its sister "inns", located just down the street. The standard motel rooms were much more roomy, with plenty of space for the king size bed and large chair with ottoman. Decor is attractive in both the room and guest lodge. Wine and cheese at...

I was looking for an inn that was pet friendly and My first impression when I opened the door is wow, this innkeeper cares about making you feel at home. The decor is more like a B&B than a motel with
The Inn matches the town's charm. Very well decorated, well maintained, clean rooms, and very pet friendly. Tile floors...

OVERVIEW:
Hillwinds Inn is a member of the chain of smaller hotels with sister Inns located within the small city of Blowing Rock-NC. It has an alluring charm, cozy accommodation and all the necessary amenities worthy of its small town affluence. Despite the minor inconveniences that I’m willing to overlook, we would stay at this inn again.

I read the other reviews on this place, but our experience was not consistent with some of the other reviewers.
We arrived kind of late in a pretty big rainstorm. The room was clean and appeared to be well maintained. Bed was comfortable. Wi-fi access was available.
The breakfast was supposed to last until around 10 am, and we were...

Hotel staff of the property was very helpful but there were some negatives that made my stay disappointing. When I checked in my room had no clock and the first morning there was a broken and flooding toilet. The buffet breakfast was not worthy of a B&B. It consisted of pre-packaged or pre-frozen items. Only fresh item was a bowl...
