My boyfriend and I had planned to run a race in Valle Crucis, NC and then stay in at the Hillwinds Inn in Blowing Rock, NC post-race. Upon our arrival at the hotel, I was told by the front desk clerk that there was no record of my reservation (other than the printed confirmation I had placed in front of... more

I am very sorry this guest experienced these issues during their trip to Blowing Rock. Unfortunately these occurrences do happen but are rare. We do all we can to be certain that our guests are satisfied with their accommodations and are secured in the rooms they have reserved through all sites. Please accept my apologies for this error and know...

Our stay here was OK but it wasn't as nice as I expected it to be for the price. I guess you are paying for the convenient location too which was just a few short blocks to Main Street in Blowing Rock. Light appetizers were offered in the early evening but no wine (we were informed of this ahead of... more

This was a fabulous experience. We were celebrating our anniversary, (and hadn't been to Blowing Rock for 23 years), and upon registering (it was a Monday), we were notified that we were being upgraded to a suite. It was so beautifully appointed and the bathroom was very luxurious. The furnishings and linens were exquisite. Although the wine and cheese are... more

We visit Blowing Rock several times a year and stay at the Hillwinds Inn the majority of the time. And if we don't stay there we stay at a sister property (Village Inn or Ridgeway Inn). Hillwinds Inn has very charming comfortable rooms. The rooms are very updated with nice TV's and tiled baths. The continental breakfast is wonderful and... more

My wife and I enjoyed the stay at Hillwinds. The room was clean and comfortable and very quiet. The location was great, we could basically walk wherever we wanted to go. We will return later in the year. more

A renovated motor lodge with requisite parking and noise right outside the door. There's only so much you can do with such a structure; bedroom and bathroom were small but clean with nice bedding. Mattress wobbled like Jell-O when turning over (and we're not large people). Stayed 2 nights. Hospitality was virtually non-existent and management gone by 7 pm. Only... more

I stayed here for two nights with my wife this past weekend. Overall we are very happy with our time here. We stayed in the Davidson Suite and it was our first time staying at Hillwinds. Our suite was very clean, and very comfortable. There was a full Kitchen that appeared to be in great shape, although very minimally appointed... more

We're very pleased with our choice of Hillwinds for our two-night stay. The choice of room decorations and toiletries were very tasteful and comforting. The wine and cheese reception was a nice treat. Location is great for strolling up to the downtown shops. Our only minor quips were the small sink and bathroom shelf, dark shower curtain (like taking a... more

We "blew" into Blowing Rock late in the day. Went to the B.R. Visitor Center. Marsha was very helpful. We told her we were on a budget(looking for under $100/ night room). She directed us to the Hillwinds Inn. The room was $79 including a light continental breakfast and simple wine and cheese happy hour at 5:00p. The rooms were... more
