Let me start by saying that I don't go to the spa regularly - maybe 3-4 times a year - so when I go, I consider it a treat. It's not exactly a cheap excursion, so there is definitely a certain level of service and professionalism that I expect to receive. The overall facilities....the walls were paper thin! During my... The location is ideal and the grounds are perfect for outdoors. Unfortunately, average is all i could get out of this place. Expect average accommodations, average service, and average everything else. I'm trying to figure out if average for the rest of the country is excellent for this little town. i don't think i saw anything else that could beat... More

We stayed at Chetola during the off season, and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was included at Bob Timberlake's restaurant each morning. The first morning it was buffet style, and it was ok. I am not a huge breakfast buffet person; however, my husband loved it because they had fresh salmon. The second morning we ordered from a menu, and... More

Just got back from a one week stay in a 2 bedroom timeshare unit. Very large unit with a sunken living room including a wood burning fireplace, dining room, kitchen, bathroom with washer and dryer closet, guest room with 2 twin beds, master bedroom with king bed and bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi tub and lots of closet space.... I had heard this was the place to stay in Blowing Rock, so when we took the kids (8 and 6) on their first ski trip (Appalachian Ski Mountain), I booked a room through the ski place. Chetola looks really nice on approach - tucked behind a lake on the edge of town. The guy at check-in was good, too,... More

We checked in for only two nights and we were sorry we didn't book for longer. We tried, however, they were all booked up. The room was large and lovely. We had a balcony with two Adirondack chairs with a table. It was wonderful to relax out there with a drink before dinner. The view we had was wonderful. It... More

The resort is indeed beautiful with gorgeous grounds and walking distance to the quaint town. However, what sets this place truly apart is the most excellent staff...I don't know if they are carefully chosen or simply trained to the level of "Ritz Carlton" customer service. Either way, from the most professional, competent, and friendly manager (Jacob), who incidentally essentially saved... More

Stayed before the summer rush, so the this beautiful resort was nice and quiet. The staff was well trained and attentive. The restaurant was closed for dinner, but the breakfast and lunch were tasty. Probably the only time you could have the pool to yourself. Love to stay here in the summer

My family and I visit here at least once a year. The setting is incredible, and the rooms are well furnished and appointed. It is far enough off the main street that you feel tucked away in the mountains, but close enough to walk into town in a few minutes. Can't wait for our next trip!

The Scene: Took advantage of a Groupon and went on a getaway to Blowing Rock with the wife. The grounds are beautiful and scenic; it's very obvious why this place is popular for weddings. Sure enough, there was at least one wedding that took place during our stay. We stayed in the Chetola Lodge portion of the grounds. Our "view"... More
