Have been camping here for the last 20 years. Every year it gets worse and worse. This year we stayed here in our motorhome. The trees were so low in E and F loop, I had to stop and get out my ladder and pruning shears to cut branches just to get in the campground. I was warned at check... More

The location cannot be beat! This is a large, lovely campground. They have public toilets but no showers, however I understand the public pool in Blowing Rock charges $2 for showers. Wish I knew about that sooner!! The campsites vary significantly, so you may want to browse before you choose one. I stayed on the B loop, which was very... More

Called to ask about reservation policy and lady on the phone was extremely rude. She acted very put out that I dared call to ask. Understanding that it was Memorial Day weekend and that they would be very busy, I asked her what camp sites were available as first come first serve and how did that work having no experience... The fact that this campground was less than half full on a Saturday night is evidence of the overall low regard for it in the area. The campground is old and in need of some loving care. No electric outlets in the bathrooms, no shower, no hot water. anywhere. period. Choose your site carefully because some of the tent pads... More

I must say that this is my first camping experience so I don't have a lot of campground comparison. But for someone who is used to hotels, I was very pleased with this experience. Check in was very easy. We had a group of 5 people with three tents so had reserved a space online for $19. When we got... More

Our family just returned from a weekend camping trip and were surprised and disappointed by the conditions we found at the campground. Having camped there about 5 years ago, we were excited to return to such a beautiful spot. We were shocked at what we found! The roads throughout the campground are in horrible shape with huge potholes everwhere. The... More

Toured the Parkway with in-laws and cousins (4 tent sites total) and have plenty if other recent trip experience to justify this review... Dont stay here unless you are desparate!! The bathrooms were not lit, dirty (once a day visits from staff as we were across from the comfort station), no showers, there was no electricity access despite plenty of... More

We have been to this campground 3 times during the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. (2008, 2009 and 2013). First 2 times in loop A, this last time in loop B. I like the campground, the lake and where it is situated on the parkway. However, every year it has been very rainy. Apparently it is on "that" side of the... More

If you're looking for a good campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway, this is a good one. There are well over 100 campsites. If it had not been for the torrential rains we would have been able to enjoy it more, but that obviously is not something that can be helped. We camped for one night in the A loop... More

We spent 2 nights at Julian Price in a travel trailer June 13-14, 2013. When we arrived the campground had not been mowed in weeks. The grass was 8-10 inches tall. Maintenance is also being deferred as the grass growing in the cracks in the roads was several inches tall. Thick layers of moss covered many picnic tables. There were... More
