We happened to be in the fall around the time that the landscape was nearing peak fall beauty. Many places were booked and were much more expensive. On one hand, we felt lucky to find the place and to book a room. It was very reasonably priced given the area, and, a short drive from Asheville and all the other... More

The Inn Recently spent a week at my favorite place, The Madison Inn in Black Mountain NC. Enjoyed the mountain air and recently renovated Butterfly Room at The Madison. The Madison Inn is a little gem, nestled just outside the quaint town of Black Mountain NC. Not your typical Bed and Breakfast, as you have private rooms with their own... More

Check-in is at 3pm here and as I was traveling down from Blowing Rock, I just happened to arrive 30 minutes earlier. I figured I was close enough to check-in time so I drove up, parked in front and noticed the absence of any other vehicles. It seemed desolate. I walked in and saw the restaurant/rooms check-in signage on a... More

Let's begin with the positives: The Madison Inn's on-line site and pictures, plus their signage, rocking chairs and friendly staff. There were a couple of outside seating areas that were nice and inviting. It's sort of run down and tired after that. My wife and I stayed in a room with twin beds advertised with memory foam mattresses. I'm guessing... More

The Inn is a nice place to stay but beware it is a work in progress! We had one of the rooms that was updated in 2012. Tile in bathroom, comfortable beds, and flat screen televisions. The restaurant was always filled with happy customers enjoying the best food you have ever eaten in your life!!! The only complaint we had was... More

Not your typical B&B. Charming decor, private seating for couples, exceptional cuisine, superb service. Reasonable prices. Just off 1-40 at next exit past Black Mountain heading East. Follow the signs for a great treat.

Last weekend, I met my family in Ridgecrest for a reunion at the boys camp. My budget and my options led me to stay at the Madison. Next time I go back to the Asheville area, I will stay at the Madison again, and again. The rooms are clean, the rooms are quaint. We stayed in the Safari room with... More

"Breakfast is already in your room " we were told the night we checked in.It turned out to be Red Delicious apples ( still with the labels on ), granola bars and coffee with instant creamer.. The rooms were definitely eclectic. The flat screen TV's turned out to be one flat screen and two tube=type. Some of the furniture belonged... More

We found the Madison Inn on Google and it looked like a nice place. We were welcomed at the front desk when we arrived and the woman was incredibly helpful. She was also our waitress at dinner and made sure that everything was perfect. The rooms are a bit on the small side but you’ll find that in most bed... More
