Booked a room last minute for a recent stay in this hidden gem. Boy was I glad that I did! Excellent little inn (10+ rooms all with private entrances), where you feel like you're staying somewhere personal but still have a good deal of privacy. We stayed for one night in Beaufort. Initially wanted to stay in the town/village - near the water - but there were a few large weddings in town and EVERYTHING was booked. Had a lovely stay at this former poor house. This is marketed as "grumpy hosts, lumpy beds, spoilt dog and nasty cat" - but don't believe it! Room (efficiency) was very comfortable and the hosts were great - they even brought us freshly baked bagels and muffins every morning! Highly recommended. more
