That the skylight didn't leak in heavy rain is about the only nice thing about our stay. Smoketree Lodge is centrally located and has an indoor pool, but... The coffee maker could not sit on the limited counter space and be plugged in because of the location of the outlet. The cook top got hot but the light/fan hood is... More

We love the Smoketree Lodge because it is only 15 minutes outside of Boone, NC, and it has a lovely heated pool and hot tub. Year round (including winter), the pool is 84-86 degrees and the hot tub is always around 102 degrees. The rooms all have little kitchenettes and DVD players connected to the TV. The main lodge area... More

Nice View. Older Lodge with rustic charm. Room clean, mini fridge, cooktop and microwave. Has heated pool and hot tub. Had WiFi, but signal was not good in our room. There is a computer in the lodge part you can use if needed. Front Desk ladies were very helpful with anything we asked. Great mountain area. Would stay again.

This was the third time I've stayed here, and I continue to enjoy it's rustic charm. Although it's not a 4-star hotel, the rooms are cozy & comfortable, and the staff is always very friendly and courteous. The place could use a little TLC in some spots, but that's part of the lodge's rustic charm. It's a short drive to... More

Outside doesn't look so great needs paint. The inside is perfect for my family of four. We enjoyed the view and the price for a weekend stay. Pool and hot tub was fun too. Will stay here again for sure!

We love this place. We have stayed here multiple times and will stay again. The lodge part has a large TV (the first time we stayed, the staff allowed us to hook up the XBox and our group of about 15 sang karaoke!), a beautiful fireplace in the sitting area. The upper level part has a pool table, several arcade... More

My wife and I wanted to take our 7 year old grandaughter to the mountains. She had never flown in a plane nor seen or played in snow. We chose to head towards the Sugar Mountain area and wanted to get some type of "lodge" experience also. Smoketree Lodge looked like it was a great spot. When reading reviews though,... More

Wife and I visited in September during a Miata meet. Rooms are dated but very adequate. We consider the rates we paid a very good value. Property appeared to be very well-maintained. The unit we stayed in had no smoke smell.

The positives, the staff members were some of nicest ladies I have ever met. I made the reservations and somehow missed that smoking was allowed in all rooms. Prior to arriving, I called and found out my mistake. The staff put a filter in my room ahead of my arrival. My husband and I decided to try one night at... More

There were mixed reviews on Tripadvisor but I thought a lodge would be a fun experience for my family. We pulled up and the first thing we saw was the air conditioning units with mold on the outside. I went in and the musty smell was rather unpleasant. I went to the desk and stated that we did not want... More
