We stayed here for three nights while skiing at Sugar Mountain. Though nothing special, the hotel was very convenient to the slopes and fine for our purposes. We were on the second floor, which was a bit of a hassle carrying stuff up and down on outdoor icy steps and walkways. And because we stayed there on a holiday weekend,... more

It could have been worse but this Best Western has some challenges. Foremost, it wasn’t super dirty but it could have been cleaner. The cleaning staff needs to pay attention to details. Perception is everything. The walls are too thin. You can hear practically everything your “neighbors” are doing. This may sound particular but I like eye-pleasing soft white light.... more

We were taking a couple of days to see the area and our friends have a small dog. The motel is easy to find and had a few pet friendly rooms (our friends paid more because of extra care taken to ensure cleanliness). Which I think is reasonable. The motel had designated pet walk area - and we did see... more

We recently moved from Western PA to the Hilton Head, SC, area. The Lowcountry, with its endless sunshine and relatively warm weather, is a great place to live, but we missed being able to quickly head over to the ski resorts as we did up North. The closest place to which we could drive in six hours or so was... more

My husband stayed here when checking our son into college but was so appalled that they checked out after one night. Dirty, noisy (they could here the toilet being flushed next door) and overpriced with bad food. There are many nice B&B's in the area, don't bother with the best Western. more

I had stayed here a couple of years ago and had a pleasant stay so had no qualms about staying here again. When we checked in the girl at the desk wasn't very friendly but that was OK. Our room was nice and clean and the beds comfortable. I liked having the sink separate from the shower and toilet. We... more

My husband and I waited too long to book a hotel for my brother's graduation from ASU in Boone so we looked outward and found The Best Western Mountain Lodge in Banner Elk. After a 15-20 minute, pleasant drive from Boone after dinner, we got there around 10pm. The hotel did have a very Mountain Lodge feel with a cozy... more

First let me say, I would stay here again. However there were a few bumps. We loved our room, but found lipstick on one of the coffee mugs. Our room was located on the bottom floor near the stairs and every time someone from upstairs wheeled down their luggage we would here the thump, thump, thump as the suitcase landed... more

We planned our trip here about a month ahead of time. We had no problems scheduling the check-in for late evening. We got in around 10:15pm and had no problems checking in. The room itself was ok. There were a few areas that could have been cleaned up a bit more in the bathroom. There were some stains on the... more

I only stayed one night, but it was a good experience. First off, let me commend this hotel for accepting and accomodating pets. Very few hotels appear to do so in the area! I stayed in a pet friendly room and you would never have guessed there had been dogs or cats there. The room looked to have been recently... more
