What appeals to some, doesn't appeal to all! The weathered exterior of this Historic Inn was charming and only added to the aura of the dwelling. The dining areas, hallways, porches, staircase, verandas, authentic functional furnices, chandeliers, lighting, tables, desks, nightstands, etc....etc...etc....all contributed to the this lovely gem nestled in the beautiful countryside. Simple elegance; a retreat for the mind,... more

We revisited the Hillside after not being there for almost 14 years. I guess you could say nothing has changed!! Spiders in every corner, even in the shower. Dust everywhere. Our room had chipped paint , water stains on the ceiling and tiles missing from the unworkable fireplace. A previous renter wrote in dust on the mirror and it was... more

The Hillside Inn in Wyoming, NY is a great property in a rural location. Located 30 minutes from Letchworth State Park, my husband and I stayed there for our anniversary. While the exterior of the building needs some TLC, it had great charm and character. We stayed in room #3 - it was a large room with queen sized bed... more

It will be a long time before my wife and I find a Bed and Breakfast as stately, relaxing, and comfortable as was the Hillside Inn. We stayed a night for our anniversary and found the furnishings elegant, well-appointed; an appealing blend of historic mansion outfitted with modern amenities. Water pressure unusually strong, and plenty of hot water! We enjoyed... more

I am so disappointed in the Hillside Inn. I purchased a room for my brother and sister-in-law as a gift for their wedding night. I purchased and they stayed in room number 4, a jacuzzi room that I chose specifically for the jacuzzi. The owner was accommodating with the late check in but that is where any accommodations ended. When... more

Recently I served as matron of honor hosted at this facility. I found the innkeeper and her husband very rude, uncooperative, unfriendly, and unwilling to fulfill their end of the contract. Although the day started out rainy, they refused to put the chairs outside for the wedding ceremony because no one would sit in them if they were wet. I... more

Management response from

We, the owners, are sorry that the Matron of Honor was not happy with the wedding she attended at our Inn. It is our policy to deal directly with the peron or persons, who read over and sign our Contract and Function Agreement, concerning their plans for the wedding & reception. We meet & discuss their ideas and plans several...

I have been interested in the history of this Inn since the article in Buffalo Spree Magazine appearaed serveral years ago. I visited the Inn in 2003 to inquire about booking our wedding there and was "greated" by a rude Inn Keeper/Owner who acted as though my business (expensive wedding) would be an imposition. I heard there was new ownership... more

The Hillside Inn has GREAT history and even Greater people that run it. We have stayed here on other dates and found the the owners to be VERY people friendly. They will help you with any detail you need. The food has always been excellent and just to our liking. The food and restaurant remind you of a 5 star... more

We stayed here for 2 nights with our toddler son. Although it was busy during the long weekend (Columbus Holiday) the innkeepers were responsive and breakfast time was organized. This is an old inn that needs lots of tender loving care - the innkeepers have quite a job of maintaining such a huge property and look like they're just scraping... more

We stay there each year when visiting Wyoming. It's so beautiful in the snow (they have a few toboggans too!). Nancy is very friendly and helpful - we called before hand and she served us dinner two hours AFTER THE RESTAURANT CLOSED!! It's great for walks in the country and for enjoying small town life. The library with the fireplace... more
