A friend of mine was thinking of going to an ashram to take a Yoga Teacher Training and she mentioned this place. I had to warn her BIG time. I stayed here in the winter of 2014, in february. I had paid for the yoga teacher training. First of all, they told me on the phone that I would paid... More

I spent the week-end with my adult daughter not knowing what to expect, and finding Sivananda to be quite a treat. The site itself falls somewhere between a camp and an ashram, therefore the accommodations are quite spare. If you are looking for luxurious living, this is not the place!: However, it is clean, peaceful and the staff are warm... More

If you like dorm-like accommodations and commune living, then this is the place for you. Place was somewhat clean, but obviously not what we expected. Its run by all volunteers, who, cook, clean, present the yoga classes, etc. The food, which is all vegetables, wouldn't be too bad if it was "normal" food, - no protein or carbs either; served... I had the most incredible experiences of my life here for the month I was there for TTC. It was totally life changing. If you are thinking to go, do consider being a part of TTC Ie teacher training course. You will love it.

The yoga, although different from my normal practice, was wonderful. Although the sequencing is the same, each teacher brought a different element to their class and after the adjustment I loved the sequencing and am using it in my practice now. I loved the chanting and the spiritual talks that were given in the am and pm. The talks were... More

What a blessed and amazing experience! I was staying at the ashram for two nights and I absolutely loved it. Very clean and cozy place in the beautiful forest with delicious vegetarian and vegan meals. I enjoyed so much all yoga classes and Sat sang was a divine experience for me. I look forward to coming back again.

I have been going to the Yoga Ranch since 2006, and just recently returned from their Passover/Easter weekend with my young daughter. It is a wonderful community of people in a beautiful environment, but it is not for everyone. It sometimes takes more than 2 days to get used to and feel comfortable there, but if you give it a... What a wonderful place! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The yoga classes are great and the vegetarian food is delicious. I was able to enjoy the beautiful nature as well. I will definitely go back!

Honestly, I am perplexed by the raving reviews, because there is a lot not quite right about this place. How do I even begin... To start with - a disclaimer - I did not pay for my 2 night weekend stay. A friend had another friend drop out, and offered the spot free if I would go (since it's not... More

I've been to yoga retreats and the Omega Institute, and here, you definitely get LESS than what you pay for: 2 vegan meals, accommodation and meditation/yoga. This would be fine but for the fact that the meals are not that great. But that's a matter of taste, so putting that aside, what's up with "cleaning" your own dishes? That too... More
