We've stayed here twice now, and wouldn't dream of going someplace else (unless they were totally unavailable!). Al and Alicia are great hosts and really care about their guests and hotel - if anything is even slightly amiss and you mention it within earshot they will correct it right away. Undeniable value - great location very close to Whiteface Mtn for skiing; charming spot, with lots of character; most importantly, the owners are really fine people who go to tremendous lengths to make you feel at home and happy. more

stayed 6 months with family, now I took brother and dad out to Lake Placid. Even though the skiing wasn't the best, the stay at mountain brook was great! Way would anyone want to stay anywhere else? Thanks Al, We will be back. more

We stayed at the Mountain Brook Lodge for two nights and had a great stay. The owners, Al and Alicia were extremely hospitable and welcoming. We went snowboarding at Whiteface, which is only a five minute drive from the lodge. The rates were extremely affordable and we will definitely return again in the near future. more

I found them through GOOGLE and we went. AL and Alica are the nicest, helpful and well infomed hosts. They are truely wonderful people. The rooms are clean, modest and comfortable. They are pet friendly, and the rates are VERY afforable. we will be going back this summer. more
