STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE ESPLANADE- the hotel is a dump. Last renovation must have been in the 1970s, everything about this place is old, run-down, and gross. The Esplanade also owns the nursing home directly across the street, and the two buildings are actually connected via tunnel on the 4th floor....it's weird. Let me list all the horrible things... I read the earlier reviews and expect to the worth. We spend the last weekend there for a family event and we had a good surprise. The building still looked old and the reception not really looked promise but the rooms was good and just renovated. The location is great.

The Manager is super nice. He deserves a good job elsewhere. The lady at the front desk was nice too. I have to start by saying this because they were the best things about the hotel. Otherwise this is NOT a hotel but a construction site. The entry way is difficult to find as there is yellow ribbon around the... More

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days. Rooms were clean but outdated. Complementary breakfast did not have a great selection. Even the Kleenex was a bit hard on the nose. Parking garage across the street was a bit noisy and made the street night dark. It is a bit pricey for the condition of the hotel. But a great... More

This hotel is the worst, dirty, random desk service, outdated, no parking, no air conditioning, greasy headboards, scratchy towels and on and on. And don't get me started on the ridiculous price for this substandard accommodation. Hotel is across from elderly housing which bears the same name. Sneaking suspicion that this is also used as elderly housing. Had reservation, paid... More

Was there for 3 days. Room was nice and updated (make sure to get a room on the second floor, a little more expensive than the other ones, but worth it). It was clean and they offer a complementary breakfast. They only downside, was the construction of a parking garage across the street. Staff is very nice and helpful.

This may have been a 'hotel' 50 years ago, but it is now a retirement community. I believe they are renting out empty rooms as "hotel" rooms to supplement business. 24 hour cancellation policy is their "bait and switch insurance policy". Getting off of the elevator, was almost run over by someone in a wheelchair coming from the dining hall... More

We stayed in a deluxe studio king about 5 times in 2013.The location of the hotel is great, as it is close to restaurants, stores, parking and public transportation to NYC. The room was large, very clean, with big windows providing a light open feeling. The room had a comfortable bed with nice, functional furniture, and a kitchenette that included a... More

This place is a dump, for $200 for the night, i don't think they have upgraded since 1980. It was warm out, but because it was winter, the central heat was on, and you can't control it. Front desk says just open the window if they work. No screen. Had to listen to a huge party out side, so no... More

We got lost during a severe storm and wound up in White Plains. We were referred to this hotel by another hotel that was full. It's a well kept secret on a side street without prominent signage. When I declined their basic room I was offered a premium room which was large and attractive, with a complete set up for... More
