My son was playing Army this past weekend and we were lucky enough for the The Thayer to be the team hotel. It was a wonderful simple property. I enjoyed room service and the Sunday brunch, although a little expensive it had lots of choices, both hot and cold and the service was perfect. Just a couple of small issues,... More

Very nice, efficient hotel...if you are looking for simple elegance you will be pleased. If you are looking extravagant accommodations, you will not necessary be pleased..but you might...It's simple but very nice appointments are exactly what I like. The executive suite was perfect for 3 adults and 1 small child

Stayed there while son did overnight as a cadet candidate. Older hotel, but well maintained- though the flags out front need replacing. MacArthurs restaurant was very nice. Loved the look. Good service. The first morning we were pinched for time and wanted to eat at the breakfast buffet- we'd been told by the night staff on check in that it... More

This is a grand old hotel in an amazing location. The main lobby provides the right ambiance, with its huge fireplace and wood-beamed ceiling. Meeting rooms all have spectacular views of the Hudson - delightful and distracting! But an accumulation of little things meant the hotel just didn't meet its "5 star" billing. No ramp at the front door, so... More

The bad's first. Parking is too far from the hotel. There is not a close outlet to the bed for a c-pap machine. The porter was very helpful as were most of the hotel staff. The water was hot for my entire shower. The bed was so comfortable, I fell asleep fast. It's an old hotel but it had everything... More

The Thayer experience begins when you stop at the West Point security gate! Everyone her was so friendly, cordial and helpful. The staff was so "down to earth" and wanted to please in every way. The price was very reasonable considering the quality of the accommodation. First, you are offered a choice if the view of West Point or the... More

Loved this hotel. Staff attentive but down-to-earth, warm. Historic architecture intact and melds well with modern amenities, along with info on military history and lots of info on activities in the area. Majestic views of the Hudson. Fireplace in lobby terrific. Very comfy bed, great shower. quiet place. dining room and pub relaxed places to hang out and talk. Was... More

This was the third time we stayed at the Thayer and each time my wife and I enjoyed it immensely. This time we were there for a show and stayed over and had brunch the next day. Food at dinner and the brunch were excellent. The room was also very nice. I would highly recommend the hotel as a place... More

We were at West Point as part of a West Point Alumni Glee Club (WPAGC.org) contingent there to perform with the Cadet Glee Club in a concert at Ike Hall. The WPAGC also sang at the Mess Hall, the Thayer Hotel, the Culinary Institute of America, a basketball game, a hockey game, and finally a wonderful joint sing at the... More
