Plenty of space in the self catering apartment and good laundry facility. Good breakfast and hosts were very helpful with ideas of where to go. Quiet location 3 minutes drive from the town centre. Owners run tours so have plenty of local knowledge.

We arrived at the hotel at 9 pm after a very long drive down from the Northlands. The owner came straight out to the car and was very helpful in recommending a restaurant which would still be open, having made some phone calls for us. It's hard to find food after 9 pm in Whitianga. We didn't have a room... More

The manager is very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much bother to make your stay a pleasant one. We stayed for two nights and could not fault the accommodation except that it is not within walking distance of anything (town is a 5 minute drive). You definitely can't put away the car keys while you are here as there... More

This is a very nice place, close to town with heaps of birdsongs around and wonderful to relax. Breakfast selection good. Very friendly and helpful hosts. All very tidy and clean. Rooms with nice decks to enjoy sunshine. Thanks!

Not impressed with the location at all. Far to far out of town. Literally in the middle of nowhere. No restaurant to dine in on the premises. And the lady who was on reception really didn't appear very interested at all. It had a communal kitchen area if you want to cook for yourselves.

Drove from Auckland along the scenic Coast rd 25 through Coromanel to Whiianga. A wonderful drive and a must do drive. We Stayed here for 2 nights to visit Hot Water Beach Cathedral Cove and Captain Cook Bay. For around $120 AUD with Breakfast is very good on a budget and would stay again, Nothing special about the place. It... More

We came from the US, stayed 3 days at the Aotearoa Lodge in Whitianga NZ and had a personalized tour of the coromandel by Darryl who grew up here and has been guiding for 9 years. Darryl and Lynette were perfect hosts, providing Auckland hotel pickup, lovely breakfasts in the attractive lodge and insider knowledge of the coromandel. This was... More

We experienced a warm welcome at the reception desk with a helpful service. They are flexible in terms of early check-in and late check-outs (if the booking situation allows). The standard double bedroom was nicely presented. Seating is available on the decking in front of the room with peaceful garden views. Flat TV available. Bathroom/shower was ok but I'd recommend... After taking the long road in to town, we were made very welcome by our hosts. Our accomodation had everything we needed to recharge before going on. The recommendation of Squids in town to eat, was a highlight. The local attractions of Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove are not to be missed. Would recommend this accomodation with spacious rooms... More

Away from the hustle and bustle (if any) of Auckland is the beautiful town of Whitianga.. This lodge is located about 5 to 7 mins from the Wharf/ Town center.. Loved the place.. Quiet and Serene.. The hosts were great too..
