Bus stop right in front of the backpacker, and within 1 minute walk you are on the beach already! 10 bed dorm, not bad in low season with the price you paid. Clean and tidy kitchen and common area. 10 minutes walk to city centre of Whitianga. Nice beach view from the room. A good place to meet other travelers.... More

We came during cold october, whereby the season is low with travellers. Upon arrived, we requested our initially booked twin room to be changed as the one we got were at the back of building with no windows. In the end, we had a free upgrade to a self-contained unit (comes with ensuite toilet, own kitchen and living room) with... More

Wasn't my favourite hostel on our travels but we had a clean double room although we shared a 2 bed apartment with people we didn't know which was slightly strange. The hostel did lend us a shovel to go to hot water beach which was nice. You are right across the road from the sea so the location is lovely.

I stayed here 2 nights, booking a private room in one of the rooms at the front of the hostel. It was very clean, freview tv and dvd player, a very comfortable bed, and good cooking facilities. I was lucky to have the room to myself, and cannot praise the staff for their friendliness and help. If you are a... More

We stayed at this hostel for a night in one of the double rooms. The staff are really friendly, and switched us from a twin to a double room when we requested. The room itself is a bit of a weird setup which actually works quite well - all the twin and double rooms seem to be in separate little... More

Arrived here with no booking looking for a twin room, all was booked up so we ended up staying in a 10 bed dorm. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and this made for a great stay. The room was fine, very clean with small bathroom and an amazing view of the beach!!! The only thing I... More

When we arrived we found out there was a problem with our booking (room only for one) so they kindly and with no complications upgraded us. After staying in a crappy hotel in Auckland before we came to Whitianga, that was just what we needed (and universe knew it;))! Just beautiful comfortable clean place! No complaints! Location. Hostel is near... More

This multi-coloured building contains a nice Coromandel hostel, in which my mates and me stayed in for two nights. At first, the hostel belongs to both the BBH network and the YHA network, which is really good as you can make use of the discount regardless which card you own. The owner is very friendly and there are free kayaks,... More

Nice Place to stay with lots of space, barbeque facilities, within a share good facilities for cooking, private lounge with tv and free dvd. Everything is obviously used for quite some time, but all in all in a good shape and the cleaning lady shows up every day and works properly. In the share you also have your private bathroom,... The name tells no lie, two minutes across the road and you're on the sand. It's a really lovely beach. The hostel comprises of four buildings in a 'L' shape, so most rooms won't have sea views but you're so close it doesn't matter. We stayed in a double room on the second level. It was the biggest room on... More
