Margaret River area is a curious combination of surfing culture, sophisticated wineries, artisans and wild natural beauty. Therefore the accommodation choices are just as varied. I think having glossy high rise corporate hotels would be out of place. Therefore when we stay we go with the Cape Lodge balance. The difference is in the detail…the rooms are generous and subtly... Definitely a special occasion destination due to the price but we couldn't have been happier and wanted for nothing during our two night stay at Cape Lodge. You really need to consider the total experience here with rooms whilst comfortable with all you needed, probably not 5 star. The restaurant with it's amazing food, overall service and the little touches... More

We've just returned from Cape Lodge - a stay to which we had been looking forward for some time. We weren't disappointed. Yes, it is expensive but I believe you get what you pay for. For me, it's always the staff who makes these destinations great and that is true at Cape Lodge. We travel the world and we know... More

My review reflects the previous post - nice food, lovely location but not luxury and overpriced. We had often thought of staying at Cape Lodge given it's reputation - however we always decided to stay somewhere more pragmatic. We decided to have a treat however - on the plus side the grounds are lovely and the food was excellent. However... More

Saved up for a birthday treat at what we thought was going to be 5 star luxury, however were very disappointed with the accommodation. This lodge sits in some very beautiful and well maintained gardens which are absolutely stunning, perfect for peace and quiet and relaxation. We paid for a superior suite which was spacious but very basic, uninviting and... More

We last stayed here 20 years ago and going back was every bit as good as we remember. Superior Spa rooms just lovely, nice terrace to drink our welcome back bottle of Cape Lodge Shiraz. Nice new pool in the gardens. Restaurant fabulous, ate in on both nights, a must.

We celebrated my birthday at the lodge, spending 3 days enjoying the peace and quiet of the establishment and it's wonderful grounds. We did book our stay on a promotion which was more in line with our budget and I believe more in tune in value for money. The breakfast menu was tops with a very comprehensive menu which one... Stunning private location and fabulous grounds, perfectly situated for winery tours and beautiful beaches. Forest suite was outstanding including magnificent views over lake. Weather was chilly at night during our stay so heated bathroom floor was a real bonus! Restaurant was exceptional, standard of cuisine was of the highest order, staff very attentive, nothing too much trouble. Outdoor pool very... More

This hotel is ideal if you like to wander the hotel gardens enjoying the fragrance of the wild flowers, watching the bright coloured birds or just relaxing with a good book, then I think you will like it here. The hotel rooms are very spacious yet have a relax feel which is mirrored throughout the hotel. The restaurant offers a... More

This lodge is in a lovely location with beautiful grounds and I am sure that the lodge was very high end when it was opened but it now feels as though it is resting on its laurels. Service is very variable. The supply of 'nibbles' was very minimal and incomplete: there was a very small cafetiere, suitable for one mug.... More
