My hubby and I went to Rottnest in March and stayed in the Caroline Thompson Cabins. They are small but contain the basics for a comfortable stay. The main cabin is one room with a double bed and 2x sets of bunks, plastic outdoor settng for a dining table, which we didn't use because there was a large picnic table... More

We booked two North Heritage Bungalows, built in the 1920 for our 3 families. The 4 bed for me, hubbie and son, and the 6 bed for our daughters and their hubbies and kids. The Bungalows are not recommended for winter, because only the kitchen and bedrooms are solid walls, with a solid half wall enclosed verandah, with slats only... More

So many people say that Rotto is expensive, better to go to Bali etc but honestly I disagree. Not the cheapest holiday around of course but so simple and fast. 30 minute ferry trip and you're there, no checking in hours ahead, dealing with my toddler on a plane, negotiating car seats & long car trips etc but I digress.... Thank you so much for the positive review. It's lovely to hear that you enjoyed your experience including our additional services such as luggage pick up which aim to make your visit more convenient. All of our accommodation is a short walk from beaches and many units are actually just shy of being able to say that they have ocean... More

We stayed in a caroline Thompson cabin, it had most basic amenities but was annoying that we had to hire a fan. Blankets are the heavy, itchy kind, I would definitely recommend you take your own. I also recommend you bring over an esky of food. Overall it was ok and our children had fun which is all that matters.

Thanks for your review! Our budget accommodation aims to be simple and easy for guests with basic cooking utensils, BBQs and blankets (and linen can be hired from the Visitor Centre prior to arrival). We appreciate you taking the time to review and I will certainly pass this on to management as we are constantly trying to improve our visitor... More

We stayed two nights at the Governors circle accommodation in the Kingston Barracks area. The house does sleep upto nine, with one single bed separated in a stand alone room. The other eight are bunk beds in two rooms. The house has a meals room, kitchen, bathroom and sitting room, with an additional bathroom and laundry separated from the main... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our accommodation. The cottages at Governors Circle are considered budget accommodation at around only $30-$37 per person per night depending on season. The accommodation aims to be simple and easy, close to beaches and is primarily taken up for use by school groups. We are however sorry to hear of your concerns... More

I rented a sea view 3 bedroom apartment in Thompson Bay South for two nights in October. It was equipped with basic kitchen utensils etc for cooking up simple meals. The beds and furniture are basic but comfortable enough. The pillows could be improved upon and extra toilet rolls were needed. The outside day bed did not have the cushion... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Sorry to hear your unit was not properly equipped - usually all accommodation items are marked off on an itinerary check list before a new visitor checks in. You're feedback is certainly appreciated - I will be sure to pass on your review to the Visitor Centre management so that... More

We returned to Rotto for three days this September. We booked a “Caroline Thomson Cabin”. Don’t expect any more comfort then necessary, but if you are going to Rottnest for staying in your room you should stay at home and save your money… The interior of the cabins contains six beds, a bath and a small equipped kitchenette. The island... More

My girlfriend booked a Saturday night at the Longreach Bay accommodation for us as a treat, after I'd had a highly stressful week at work. Any Perth resident will be familiar with Rottnest Express and their exorbitant prices (I wonder just who they bribed to get that particular near-monopoly?), but handing over $75 each for the packed 25 minute crossing... Thanks for your feedback, which as you would have expected led to considerable investigation about what went wrong that particular day in October. I am sorry that you had to wait so long to get into your house on arrival but as a rule check in's are staggered from midday and it is very exceptional for accommodation not to be... More

Although the ferry is quite expensive it is definitely worth the money. A spectacular island with gorgeous quokkas. Even though quite cool the kids had a swim at one the the beautiful beaches. Would have loved to have spent at least a night. Hire a bike the best way to get around and explore.

Beautiful relaxing jewel, unique and lightly touched by people. Given the total area under management by the RIA and the logistics, a great State park that is not supported by WA State. The accommodation is as shown, simple, uncrowded, beautifully located, rustic, all within a hop step or jump to a prestine white sand beach, no shoes required!. Ride around... More
