Stayed here for 2 nights in our caravan-great value at $22 a night. The camping area is along the Murchison River and a lovely spot to stay. This is a working farm and you are basically in the middle of it- lots of cute goats and some llamas to pet. There's showers, toilets and a laundry which are basic but... More

We stayed at MHS for 10 days. We were tent camping in the designated camp area and it really is a beautiful location, close to the river and very peaceful. It's a good location for sightseeing and accessing the town. It can be a long walk to the ablution block, depending on where you are camped, but the showers and... More

We chose this location as our base to explore and enjoy the surroundings of Kalbarri. Our group had two pop up caravans, one of which is off road. We did not want to be in a crowded park but enjoy the open style camping. The MHS suited us fine with a choice of camping near the homestead with showers and... More

Such a great camping spot right on the Murchison River. Peaceful, remote and such an amazing part of the world. We enjoyed the Murchison all to ourselves by kayaking down river and enjoying the most beautiful sunset. There is no power and there is a reasonable walk to the ablution block. Expect to pay more than the average powered site... More

We spent a couple of days in Kalbarri ... Initially wanting to do some walks in the National Parks but due to the closure of a lot of the Areas due to road repairs/ closures we decided to visit Murchison House Station. 4WD self driving tours are available as well as self guided walking tours. $10 pp. ( for the... A great location for kids who could explore the farm but not if you are wanting a bit of peace and quiet. When you book to stay on a working sheep shearing station, you expect basic accommodation, which it was (bed and a lamp bulb, communual shower/toilet block) but what you do expect is that the common facilities and rooms... Fantastic place to relax amongst nature at its best. The camping facilities were basic but clean with ample drinking water, flushing toilets and shower. The collection of army equipment and the large bulldozer was a hit with the kids. The camping and 4wding was excellent. We will be back

If you want to do bush camping it would be great as once you go across the causeway there are lots of lovely spots to camp at. If you are like us with a van you are limited in where you can camp. T he facilities very ordinary, when visiting the loo you had to take your own paper as... More

This is a bit of a mixed review. I have given the place an average score, because I and a few off my friends thought this place was really good, while others in our group, my wife included, were not as happy. We drove up to Kalbarri from the South and passed through the town and then up the road... More

We stayed in the family room of the restored shearer's quarters. These were built by convict Labor in the 1860s. Thick stone walls and high ceilings meant it stayed nice and cool inside during the day. Only one very small window, so dark inside. Floor is rough cement painted, and although it had been swept around the beds, was really... More
