The station is open 9-1pm each day and well worth a visit. A corrugated road leads you into the property and for $10 each you can walk around it at your leisure .This fee includes a delicious morning tea of freshly baked muffins which you can eat on comfortable chairs in the garden a beautifully illustrated glossy booklet that acts... We were visiting on a mixture of business and pleasure. Two of us were camping by the River at the Station and it looked really relaxing and scenic. The other two were only visiting to do some filming and the historic house and wonderful wildflowers were really memorable. Would certainly have liked to stay longer and do more.

We visited Murchison Station for a morning outing (we did not camp). It is $10 for a wander around which is pleasant and interesting. We were given a booklet which explained the history and the self-guided tour. It's also fun to take photographs if you are into this. At the end of the tour you relax in the homestead garden... We found this campground advertised in the Kalbarri guide and sadly nowhere else in the general guides we'd picked up at the tourist centers so we nearly missed it. After a quick call to confirm they had spots available, they were able to accommodate us and our tent during July school holidays. You chose your own spot when you arrive... More

You cannot camp in the Kalbarri National Park, so if you don't want to stay in a caravan park in town then I would recommend the Murchison House Station just out of town. Located on the banks of the Murchison River, there are many options to camp. We stayed recently and attempted to camp in the 4WD area, they have... More

For bush camping, 4 wheel driving, kayaking and exploring, this is up there with the best. You need to be self sufficient and have a 4wd with high clearance ( recommend). We were lucky, never saw a vehicle until the day we were leaving ( 4 day stay). We probably had the pick of all the available camping spots and... More

We stayed for 4 nights over easter 2015 on the North side of the Murchison river bush camping, fantastic location and very peaceful with plenty of wildlife. Self sufficiency, a decent 4wd with clearance and an adventurous streak with a must to see the propey in all its glory!

Stayed here for two nights in July and was seriously disappointed by the dirty and very very old facilities in the communal kitchen, toilet block and showers. It looked like nothing had changed... or been cleaned properly... in many years!! Two showers in the men's side for the whole place with no doors (only a curtain), nowhere to put your... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in our caravan-great value at $22 a night. The camping area is along the Murchison River and a lovely spot to stay. This is a working farm and you are basically in the middle of it- lots of cute goats and some llamas to pet. There's showers, toilets and a laundry which are basic but... More

We stayed at MHS for 10 days. We were tent camping in the designated camp area and it really is a beautiful location, close to the river and very peaceful. It's a good location for sightseeing and accessing the town. It can be a long walk to the ablution block, depending on where you are camped, but the showers and... More
