Really not the place to go! I booked 2 en-suite rooms for one night for myself and husband and mum and dad as we were traavellng around WA - we were up for adventure but ... from the website and write up in Lonely Planet that you will be staying in pleasant colonial hotel. The booking process went very smoothly... More

I was not a resident of the hotel but had attended the hotel restaurant Saturday 9/7/2010 to share an anniversary meal with my partner. I selected a chicken parmigania and my partner ordered a rack of lamb. While my partner was satisfied with the lamb dish I was served up a parmigania that I could not believe, instead of genuine... We were really looking forward to this as had been camping for a week and really needed a good nights sleep but not a hope! It was a Friday night and although there were only a few people in the bar (which was very strange for a Friday night) and a few staying at the hotel (less than 12) the... More

the hotel has lots of history and the grounds and pub are great .The rooms are clean , but are small and very basic, the hotel has more of a back paker vibe and even the double en suites are still in the same style .Stayed two nights and was satisfied with the room but wouldnt rush back .

After a bad experience in Carnarvon we were a little worried about staying in accommodation attached to a hotel again. The hotel looks a bit rough and run down outside but is nicely renovated inside'. Our room (double with ensuite) was large and clean with a big comfortable bed, nice soft sheets (finally), decent TV and small fridge. Ensuite was... More

Stayed here a few times while traveling up and down the west coast. each time did not disappoint. Original colonial buildings with lots of history. Ask for a tour!! rooms are spacious and clean with character. Food is great; recommend the fish and chips !! good communial areas to eat and drink. They also provide entertainment on set dates ie,... After reading some of the reviews, we arrived at the hotel with some trepidation. We made several enquiries over the phone as to what was included in our "package" and found the staff very helpful. Upon arrival, we were shown to our room and the features of the building were pointed out to us i.e. toilets etc. Throughout our stay... More

From the pictures on the website, we had high hopes for this hotel and were not disappointed when we pulled up to the hotel. We were given verbal instructions on how to get to our room and the hall and stairs leading up to the room were polished wood and very clean and nice. However, upon entering we were extremely... The West Australian rated this 4 star - it should not be rated. The night we stayed the power went off twice in our room, with 2 other rooms. Management not terribly concerned. No hot water for a shower the next morning. Noisy and cold. Restaurant below average.

The foyer was looking very tired and the customer service staff did not appear to be concerned that the booking made and paid for 2 mnths prior for a wedding night had been 'lost', the groom had to pay for the night again, and the room provided was unsuitable to sleep in. bride & groom left in digust.
