We hit Denham just before the Easter peak. So many isolated country towns struggle under the extra load of fussy tourists. Not here! The food was great with a good selection. Service was super quick and the staff were extra friendly. In fact the locals and staff of all the places we visited in Denham have been really friendly. Definitely... More

Nice country pub with rural feel. Good food. Both food and accommodation was reasonably price for prompt season visit. Location was well positioned opposite beach and boat ramp. The town is about 26kms from monkey Mia.

I have read here mixed reviews, but everyone needs to recognise that Denham is about 4-5 hours drive (at 100km/h) from the nearest town of any size. Yes the accommodation has some strong eccentricities (rattly doors, aircon in the bathroom, tv always on), but the food at the hotel was well made, tasty and served quickly - vegetarian options are... After reading so many good reviews about the food in this place, we decided to give it a try for dinner. My wife asked for the daily special, curry beef with rice, which was OK. I ordered the Scotch Fillet medium done, which came cooked much more than well done. I told the server that this was not the medium... More

Cheerful and helpful staff, the food is very good, especially the local fish, whether grilled or fried. It can get a little crowded at the weekends but it has a great atmosphere and is well used by locals..

Booked two nights here last week after reading good reviews on trip advisor but the place was quite disappointing. First they had no records of my booking even after having emailed them and booking via the tourist info online portal. Then when I requested for room 13 or 14 which were recommended by previous guests I was told that I... More

In my years of travels, I have never come across a room where the air-conditioner was actually in the toilet! The room was tiny and we hardly had room to move around. I guess that is why the air-conditioner had to be put in the toilet. There is no place else to put it. The pub is also really close... More

Hotel and staff were of top quality and the friendliness was second to none. Whilst busy, the staff were accommodating at all times. I happened to stay in the hotel the same night that "Hotel or Prison" reviewer did, and maybe because I was there for the funeral, I did not feel threatened in any way and rather than a... More

The shark bay hotel is a good old genuine country Aussie pub. If you are looking for locals, character and history then this is it. We had a meal there as well and it was great. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay for the open mike night which they assured pumps well into the night.
