We have dined at the buffet at Gateways several times, each time quite average. The recent seafood buffet dining experience was very average at a premium price ($40/head) Considering Carnarvon is a fishing location would expect the freshest and tastiest meals but this did not deliver, suggest elsewhere.

We arrived in Carnarvon my eldest son and I to visit my youngest for a short 3 day break and catchup , due to the arrival our room had been given away to a guest that checked in earlier. After much deliberation from the receptionist , she firstly offered a room with a queen bed to which my son replied... More

We stayed over a few days Its a typical country motel. Room wasn't to bad, good nights sleep! Wonderful food buffet and the breakfast was great also. Give it a chance. You're all probably snobby city slickers expecting 5 star in Carnarvon, be realistic! The pool was fantastic to. Wish we could have stayed longer until the mango tree near... More

Didn't check reviews before I booked here as it was just an overnighter on the way further north. Big mistake. Cockroach on the kitchen floor. Musty smelly room. Supposedly self contained kitchenette but no bowl, pot or utensils with which to cook. Had to use my bubs microwave steriliser lid to try and cook something in the microwave for dinner.... More

Arrived at reception after a morning of shopping, it took 15 minutes to check in the elderly lady behind the desk was so slow. Got to our room and nearly vomited. Dead flies all through the room and spiders in the bed. Bugs everywhere too ! One tiny air con. The linen stunk, it was dirty and smelly. Lights didn't... More

I booked a group of 30 people for a four night stay at the Gateway Motel. It is a country motel in a country town, so I knew was getting. It was a work trip, not a tour group, and it worked well. Everyone enjoyed the nightly buffets (as does the local community, it seems - the restaurant was always... More

Had the seafood buffet Saturday night at $40 a head. This was a first, pay for dinner at reception, and then your given your dinner plate, which you carry to the restaurant and wait for your seat allocation, very unprofessional. Now Carnarvon is on the coast, has a thriving commercial fishing and prawning industry. Asked the manager if the seafood... More

I stayed in this motel with my husband on Friday July 26th 2013 for one night. If I'd been booked in for longer, I would have left anyway! We went to the restaurant first as it was late, we were handed our plates at reception!!! and charged $80 for 2 evening meals. It was horrible, a buffet filled with unidentifiable... More

Stayed here for one night with the kids, thought it was overpriced for what it was. Needs a major update to be better value for money. At breakfast nothing was explained to us and one of the other diners had to explain where to get the plates from, it was good value for money however. Our stay was a means... More
