Stayed here twice and rooms were exactly what we needed with good size living room. We had breakfast at the restaurant which was a bit disappointing as the food was not that fresh or varied. We were told we can use the free WiFi in reception... If it works....and it didnt.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment. It was a big, clean apartment and there was nothing to complain about. It wasn't glamorous but it never states that it is. We had the breakfast which was slightly lacking in variety. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice.

Turned up at night in the aftermath of cyclone Olwyn being unable to get through to Coral Bay. The lady (owner) couldn't have been nicer, more helpful, accommodating and friendly and I know she arranged a generator for her guests the previous night when there was no power. She is hospitality personified. Definitely in the right profession even though she'd... More

Spent three days here when we were evacuated from Coral Bay because of Cyclone Olwyn. We were so pleased we pulled in at the Gatway instead of going to the Civic Centre. Even though we had no power the day the cyclone hit us, we enjoyed a superb seafood buffet in the evening. A generator was installed to ensure we... More

Room was basic but adequate for an overnighter. Price was a little expensive but compared to the rest of northwest not too bad. Air con was good, room was clean, bed comfy and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was great. Will stay here again.

We stayed after a long day on the road we booked in and paid $140 per night which was around average for Carnarvon but when we got to the room, there was a musty smell until we put the aircon on. When I went to make a coffee the cup were dirty and unmatched 2 white of different shapes 1... More

This would be the third Motel I have tried in Carnarvon passing through for just the one night. As all the others it is dated but comfortable. There was no Foxtel which was also surprising in today's times. The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. The Restaurant was simple with a smorgasbord style meal with different specials each... More

We stayed here for work for 2 weeks. 2 weeks too long if you ask me. We werent able to get accommodation anywhere else so we settled for this. The room was filthy and when the cleaners came in they barely did a thing to clean. To top it off we had mice in the room. A trap was put... More

Stayed for a few nights as we were passing through to Exmouth. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Beds were great and we slept really well after a day in the car. The food in the restaurant was excellent and both night had an amazing live musician playing. Apparently he is there five nights a weeks and really sets the mood.... More

By Carnarvon standards the Gateway is probably ok. The trouble is that these motels, and they are dotted all over Western Australia, is that they are very dated, and are always busy so they don't get regular makeovers, but they are functional. At the Gateway, the room was basic, the free WiFi non-existent in the room. But, the bed was... More
