The worse hostel i've ever seen, the owner is rude and liar, she'll say that she'll find you a job but she never not even try to find it! the place is very dirty, full of cockroaches and there is only one toilet for everyone and no equipment in the kitchen..

Very average backpackers. Very small frame of reception hours. It is close to town and the river is very closeby. Refurbishments are in progress but it looked as if they already were in progress for a while. Reasonable overnight hostel On your way through the coral coast.

The fact that this place is even still open is a suprise to me. I stayed here two weeks and the owner didnt do a thing to try and help me get work. I cannot begin to describe the incompetence, laziness and rudeness of the owner. Kitchen can barely be called that and there were cockroaches running around. Overpriced aswell.... More

When I first arrived here (on late bus), I was greeted by Cathay (miserable hostel owner) and the smell of feces, I found out next day that septic tank at the back of our room had leaked over area we were supposed to hang our clothes (this was never fixed in 4 weeks i stayed there, feces never cleared up).... Havin' to pay extra for a kissen on my dorm bed? The kitchen is not equiped at all: cups, plates and cutlery are missing out! In general the place is quite run-down. Last but not least the office is not occupied most of the time so you must call a mobile phone to check in or out! Value for money... More

I don't care what anyone says but Carnarvon backpackers is brilliant! There are a few rules as all backpackers have due to locals complaining to the police! The owner Cathy is a good craic, just accept her rules and get on wisheet (make sure you read and understand te rules) she is brilliant at getting you work and will come... More
