During our resent holiday in the Scillly Isles,my husband and I stayed in the New Inn,on the Island of Tresco. We were there for 5 nights, half board before travelling back to the mainland. The New Inn is a lovely cosy place with separate lounges for guests to use with the bar and Restaurant in the same location. The theme... More

The New Inn is a welcoming place and is very comfortable. It's furnished informally but has a homely feel. Rooms are a decent size (although the wash basin not being in the bathroom was a bit strange). You get real coffee and home-made biscuits as standard. Wi-fi was only available in the commion areas of the building. The ambiance is... More

My husband and I are staying on St Mary's and decided to visit Tresco and its gardens today. We arrived at the New Inn only a few minutes after two and were offered a very truncated menu as they stopped serving lunches at 2. The options were soup or baguettes. We ordered two crab and prawn baguettes which arrived with... More

My wife and I have stayed on Tresco many times and normally have self catering accommodation. On this occasion however we were tempted by the New Inn as our stay was short (4 nights) and was being taken to visit the island food festival. Be warned, getting to the Scillies is a trial! You could fly to the south of... More

We lived in England for 18 years and frequently visited cornwall - but never the Scilly Isles. We now know this was a mistake. My husband and I returned to the UK for our 25 wedding anniversary and decided to make the short flight from Lands end. We chose Tresco but also looked at staying on Bryher. We stayed at... More

I may be biased in this review, as my great great grandfather used to run the New Inn many moons ago, however it has been completely transformed in recent years, and is truly charming. The pub is quite separate to the B&B area, there's a special 'sleepers entrance' for the hotel guests, which leads into a light and freshly decorated... More

Having been recommended to visit Tresco by our youngest daughter we felt that a first visit would be better served by staying at the New Inn rather than one of the many holiday cottages available. This turned out to be a wise decision. It is a 'Pub' as our daughter was keen to advise and not a four star hotel!... More

We recently spent a lovely few days o the idyllic island of Tresco, all lovely white sand, blue water, peaceful views everywhere you looked, warm seas, blue skies, picturesque boats bobbing in the harbour, etc. What's not to like? We fell in love with the island and planned to return. Then odd things started to occur. When we went to... More

We stayed on Tresco in August and my partners family has done for many years. We visited the pub most evenings. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, I particularly enjoyed the warm scotch egg starter with a runny egg yolk, amazing. The bar area is traditional and reflects the character... More

Just returned from staying at the New Inn for yet another year - 7th time of staying there. Disappointed this time, however, as put in family room with black bunk beds which made the room rather oppressive but still the service is otherwise excellent - the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great food and beer - a band called All Squared... More
