We popped in for a refreshing drink, during our trip to Tresco. It was a Thursday lunchtime and I had expected it to be much busier than it was. The drinks were a bit pricey, even for the Scillies and I thought the interior a bit dark. We drank in the garden area, which I would imagine would soon get... More

Dear Cotonboy I am very sorry that you found our pricing expensive. I know that on the draught side I have actually come down to match some pubs on the island of St Mary's. I do have to say I don't have this comment about pricing on drinks very often since I dropped them on my arrival last September. I... More

The staff make Tresco, especially the new inn. Absolutely everything, apart from the climate and the vegetation on this island is about the people who service the visitors to the island . They are all young energetic and enthusiastic but may be working within parameters that have become tired with time. Hospitality, welcome and client attention are all first class,... More

Dear jempsUK Thank you for your review. I am pleased that most of the comments made are exactly as you informed me when you left the Inn as I have already put tracks into improving our provision and service upstairs. I agree with your comments on departure that more attention to details need to be implemented, and a little encouragement... More

We haven't stayed at the New Inn for very many years and wondered how it would have changed and whether it would be as good. We needn't have worried. One key change is that we had a really comfortable bed, which I rarely find in hotels. Our room was lovely and so quiet. The bathroom was rather cosy, but it... More

We had a very nice room, though it was the cheapest category. Good service, luggage was trasferred from the quay to the hotel and back. My friend had twisted her ankle, so they arranged a walking stick (special thanks to Karen from the island office). Weather was brilliant, so we had meals on the terrace. Food was good but not... Set ideally on the lovely island of Tresco close to the sea, we loved the New Inn. Staff were really helpful and friendly, the transfers to and from the ferry handled so efficiently for instance. Lovely fresh food, comfortable room. All good!

Stayed over the World Gig Racing weekend and have nothing but good things to say about the New Inn. Stylish, comfortable rooms with thoughtful touches such as real coffee, fine food and drinks in the bar and pleasant communal lounge areas. It is, however, the people who really make it - locals very friendly and staff at the Inn who... More

We wondered how things might have changed since the arrival of the new manager but we needn't have worried. The atmosphere at the pub hadn't changed and if anything the food menu was even better. Please keep the mix of Pub food and slightly more exotic dishes. Crab claws were a nice addition and 3 of our friends said the... More

Comfortable, convenient place to stay if you want to explore the Scilly Isles. A few minutes walk from harbour and a pleasant 20 minute walk to the Abbey Gardens. Fresh looking decor in bedrooms and public areas. Good breakfast (including excellent decaf coffee!). What really stands out is the staff - without exception they were pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Wish... More

Very comfortable and very clean room. We were given a warm welcome by Robert, the Manager. We enjoyed our relaxed breakfasts in the Pavillion with a great selection of cereals, fruit and pastries on the buffet and great full-English, overlooking the sea and Bryher. Dora and Joe were especially friendly towards us and our 6 year-old daughter, and we found... More
