We stayed here in June for a family holiday having been recommended to us by friends. Recommendations can be a dodgy but we soon realised our friends were right and we were not going to be dissapointed. The location is fabulous and ideal for either going on a boat trip, hitting the beach or a wonder round the quiet streets... more

Management response from
Tregarthens, Manager

Dear Benjamin, We are extremely sorry that you have been disappointed and also surprised as we have had no negative feedback from guests regarding the staff recorded at all in May. In fact, we have had some really positive feedback, including a comment from the 'Liverpool Echo' that 'the staff could not do enough for you and the food is...

As the Scillonian 111 docked at St Mary's we could see Tregarthens overlooking the harbour. We were greeted by the hotel porter who took our luggage and then did the short 2 or 3 minute walk to Tregarthens. The hotel looked good from the boat and when we arrived our thoughts were confirmed. The cheery greeting from the receptionist matched... more

We stayed at Tregarthen's in April and loved it so much we went back again in August and we were just as delighted with our stay. The location overlooking the harbour not only provides superb views but is also ideal for getting the boats to the off islands or popping into the heart of St Mary's. The food was excellent... more

We picked the hotel for its location and we were slightly disappointed as the room did not have a seaview. Although the service from the staff was great the hotel really needs an update as the rooms are very dated. This is not a cheap place to stay and if you expect the same level of accommodation for the money... more

This was the first time we have stayed at this hotel, but have visited the Islands many times before. Tregarthens is the longest established hotel and has a very loyal following, hence the clientel tended towards the elderly, but the staff are young and very friendly and helpful. The position must be the best on St Marys, very near the... more

Stayed here for one night (with work) so I can't say I'm an expert. but I will give it a quick review. Great location 2 min walk from the end of the Quay and 5 min (£3 each) from the airport by taxi although I think the hotel will pick you up for free. Room, £110 for a non sea... more

My first visit to Tregarthens’ was 10 years ago and I enjoyed my stay so much that I have returned each year since. The original part dates back to the 1800s and the old charm has been incorporated into modern extensions and alterations. Due to the early origins Tregarthens’ enjoys a unique location on St Marys commanding breathtaking views over... more
