We stayed here in two stints for a total of 4 nights on our tour of Scilly. The campsite is flat and largely protected by tall bushes/trees from the strong winds which sometimes affect the other island's sites. Its a bit of a slog up the hill with your equipment but still reasonably close to Hugh Town. Local Taxis will... More

Very friendly welcome to the Scilly isles from Ted. Campsite is great location for access to the Quay and town. The showers were powerful and actually hot! Well sheltered from the wind amongst thick rows of tree and bushes or even nestled within the moat of the tower

Location is good for a campsite although a little exposed when that wind blows, which it certainly did during 2015 Gig Weekend! Think some of the other fields were a little more protected. Not too far to walk to town etc. I would agree with some other reviewers that the shower/toilet block (particularly the older one) is in desperate need... More

We've just come back from a great 4 day stay. We were in field B with electric hook up which worked well. The field was surrounded by trees so well protected from the wind and its shape meant some tents had privacy. The showers and loo were fine and functional and the washing up area had a great re-use area... More

Stayed here in August for a long weekend (stayed last year also) & honestly cannot understand some of the negative reviews. Owners are lovely & friendly. The facilities although a little dated (can't always be brand new) are adequate & cleaned daily. I don't begrudge paying a £1 to shower, 5 mins is plenty & I'm an ages in the... More

We stayed in Greystones cottage for a week. The cottage is set in a peaceful lane with a shared garden area. We got off on the wrong foot with the owner who came across as rather blunt and bossy. She accused us of not advising that we had a dog when booking (even though that was the only reason we... More

Having never travelled to the Scillies before and camping more than one night this was an experience I wanted to love. We arrived and all luggage is transported to the Garrison campsite but didn't have a clue ourselves how to get there. Finally we worked it out and made our way up the track. We borrowed a trolley and started... More

While the campsite is in a great sheltered location, it is very expensive. £11 a night for anyone over 5 is extortianate, particularly when you have to pay £1 for a 5 minute shower and 20p for hair dryer. The facilities are run down and i don't think any money has been put back into the site for many years.... More

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful four day break in a Readi-tent at The Garrison Campsite earlier this month and we absolutely loved it!!! It is a wonderful campsite, so peaceful, even in the middle of the summer holidays! We cannot recommend it more. Pitches are large, the readi-tents are perfect and the facilities are good also. The bacon... More

Having really enjoyed a family day trip to the Isles of Scilly last year we vowed to return, but this time we wanted to stay for a few days. The Garrison Campsite provided an affordable solution for a family of four and made a perfect base from which to explore. Having decided to fly to St Mary's from Lands End... More
