Stayed for 3 nights at the Santa Maria, good location, close to the shops and beaches, although it is up a hill then a flight of steps, so you would want to give it a miss if you have walking difficulties, we tended to walk down to the town and get a taxi back. Our room was comfortable and clean,... More

We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay at Santa Maria. Made to feel very welcome and given useful information about the islands. (This was our first stay) Room was clean and the view was great. Within easy walking distance of harbour and beaches. Breakfast was promptly served and appetising. If you have dodgy knees then this is not the place... More

I recently stayed at Santa Maria for a week. The owners Jackie and Andy were so helpful, nothing was any trouble. The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food was very tasty and more than I could eat!! I would be more than happy to return! The location of this Bed & Breakfast is ideal for... More

Wasn't warned about the very steep steps beforehand but they weren't a problem as there's a hand rail they are thick steps. Breakfast is at a set time of 08.30-09:00 which was a little annoying although it was on my table a few mins after ordering. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and the... More

We recently stayed at the Santa Maria. The B&B was in a good location for shops, pubs and the harbour. There is a steep set of stairs up to the accomodation which might prove challenging for people with limited mobility. We were given a warm welcome when we arrived. Our room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable however... More

I've been every year for the last six years. Going again 2012. Have always been made very welcome. Always spotlessly clean and I strongly DISAGREE with Cindy 186258's comments about breakfast. There are several different kinds of cereal, grapefruit, prunes, yoghurt, assorted fruit juices. Then several variants on the full english with toast and jam/marmalade, tea and coffee. I have... As long as steps are no problem this is an excellent place to stay. The welcome is friendly and genuine, the rooms are very well equipped (t.v., hot drink making facilities, hair dryer etc.) the breakfast is very good and the staff are polite. The rooms are all en-suite (either bath or shower) and spotlessly clean. The owners are helpful... More

I travelled to St. Mary's with my parents for a last minute trip away, and were able to get into Santa Maria. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable and we were made to feel welcome. The breakfast was nice, but the choice wasn't huge.

Santa Maria Guest House on St Mary's is situated just below the Garrison with stunning views across Hugh Town with the Harbour and Porthcressa Beach. It is very clean, has a welcoming atmosphere and very good food. However guests do need to be fit as the Hotel is situated on a hill with 20 steps to the front door and... More
