The first time on the Scilly Isles and we could not believe what we had missed. It was absolutely wonderful, the hotel was superb, the staff 2nd to none and nothing was too much trouble. The evening meals were excellent. It was so peaceful and waking up to the sight of the sea was out of this world.

We stayed at The Hell Bay Hotel for three nights as a birthday present...not cheap but it felt to be worth every penny. We were warmly welcomed by Philip, the hotel manager - an absolute professional! The room had a view over the bay, with a small balcony. There are not too many places to eat on Bryher, however the... We had hoped to stop by this hotel for lunch, with our 2 well behaved dogs. Encouraged by the description of being 'dog friendly'- however, not really dog friendly.. We were told that dogs were not allowed inside and we would have to eat outside, great if good weather - but not In high winds at low temperatures. We don't... More

Our week long visit with friends to the IOS was made extra special by the Hell Bay Hotel. Although we stayed on St Mary's with friends for our wedding at Porthcressa Beach, we had our Wedding Lunch at the Hell Bay Hotel. We were duly delivered to the off island of Bryher in style by the wonderful Falcon power launch... More

We have just returned from a fantastic 4 days at the Hell Bay Hotel. We had a lovely ground floor room with outside patio. It was lovely sitting enjoying the peaceful afternoon warm sun, even in March. The room was lovely with everything we needed and bathroom large with nothing forgotten for our requirements. The weather was perfect for March... More

Good organisation of the four day break involving flight from Newquay ( which despite fog took off on time ) being met at airport and flexible enough to allow us to explore St Mary's and travel to Bryher later. Room was excellent ( 1st floor suite ) with fantastic views but quickly learned that in Room 14 you can be... More

Spent four days at Hell Bay at the end of September, weather was fantastic and so was the hotel, great service and great food. Our room had a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Bishop Rock lighthouse. Made a nice change to walk everywhere on a very peaceful island. Hopefully we will visit this lovely hotel again.

The Hell Bay is not just a hotel - it is a destination ! We have enjoyed staying here at some point in each of the last three years & are already looking forward to returning in 2015. The Isles of Scilly are idyllic but Bryher is something special & the Hell Bay has become the yardstick against which we... More

Visiting Bryher always go to Hell Bay hotel for lunch. Today was no exception. We had crab sandwiches, very nice but you have to wonder why mayonnaise is added to something already so good (to make it go further ?) nonetheless it was very appetising. The beer was just the right temperature too. The orices are above average but not... More

This was our third visit to Hell bay and it was still wonderful. The journey by boat to Bryher puts you in a relaxed frame of mind. The setting of the hotel is idyllic with a wonderful beach nearby and beautiful walks around the island. There are boats to other islands to explore everyday but you do need to plan... More
