Good organisation of the four day break involving flight from Newquay ( which despite fog took off on time ) being met at airport and flexible enough to allow us to explore St Mary's and travel to Bryher later. Room was excellent ( 1st floor suite ) with fantastic views but quickly learned that in Room 14 you can be... More

Spent four days at Hell Bay at the end of September, weather was fantastic and so was the hotel, great service and great food. Our room had a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Bishop Rock lighthouse. Made a nice change to walk everywhere on a very peaceful island. Hopefully we will visit this lovely hotel again.

The Hell Bay is not just a hotel - it is a destination ! We have enjoyed staying here at some point in each of the last three years & are already looking forward to returning in 2015. The Isles of Scilly are idyllic but Bryher is something special & the Hell Bay has become the yardstick against which we... More

Visiting Bryher always go to Hell Bay hotel for lunch. Today was no exception. We had crab sandwiches, very nice but you have to wonder why mayonnaise is added to something already so good (to make it go further ?) nonetheless it was very appetising. The beer was just the right temperature too. The orices are above average but not... More

This was our third visit to Hell bay and it was still wonderful. The journey by boat to Bryher puts you in a relaxed frame of mind. The setting of the hotel is idyllic with a wonderful beach nearby and beautiful walks around the island. There are boats to other islands to explore everyday but you do need to plan... More

Have just returned from our honeymoon at Hell Bay. What a fantastic place. We stayed in Juno which is the top floor of the boat house with brilliant views across Hell Bay out to sea and was everything we wanted. The food was outstanding and the staff very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Went out on one night to the Crab... More

Top notch. Well trained, friendly and very helpful staff. The location is superb for just flexing, as a base for walking the island or for boat trips out to the other islands. This is on a very friendly island. Food at the hotel is excellent ... Changing menu each day with good local produce where possible. The Bryher lobster being... More

stayed here last week as needed to drop off the grid and recharge my batteries. as a regular visitor to Scilly I had eaten lunch here but never stayed. Having stayed at the Island Hotel and the New Inn previously I was expecting great things. happy to say my expectation were surpassed by Philip and his team and had a... More

We arrived on Bryher, on the early boat from St Mary's. Along with the morning newspapers and the daily delivery of milk. The sky looked wild. The wind took our breath away. But the water alongside the jetty was crystal clear. And the golden sand could have been blown direct from any Caribbean island. The hotel 4x4 was there to... More

Our stay coincided with the tail end of Hurricane Bertha. As a consequence boat services to the other islands were suspended on the sunday. But being marooned on Bryher is no hardship, particularly when you're staying at Hell Bay! Quite lovely, and the most relaxing mini break imaginable.
