We arrived on Bryher, on the early boat from St Mary's. Along with the morning newspapers and the daily delivery of milk. The sky looked wild. The wind took our breath away. But the water alongside the jetty was crystal clear. And the golden sand could have been blown direct from any Caribbean island. The hotel 4x4 was there to... More

Our stay coincided with the tail end of Hurricane Bertha. As a consequence boat services to the other islands were suspended on the sunday. But being marooned on Bryher is no hardship, particularly when you're staying at Hell Bay! Quite lovely, and the most relaxing mini break imaginable.

Superb place to escape from the busy world, a place to relax, switch off, enjoy the excellent rooms, service and food. The whole stay was thoroughly enjoyable, an experience we will be repeating next year. We have stayed a couple of times now and still want to come back.

We called here on our visit to Bryher a friend had told us to go for coffee. Well we went for coffee and we stayed for lunch and drinks, the setting was so peaceful and calm. The decor is designed to help you chill and the staff are friendly and helpful. We will return and stay for a few nights... More

Although we only occasionally stay at the Hell Bay we are regular visitors to its bar and restaurant. The hotel, the food and the service gets better and better with each year and this year a special mention must be made regarding its staff who are superb. The quality of attentive but not 'over the top' service deserves recognition. Whether... More

Our second visit was just as good as our first 5 years previously. We did the usual 4 night deal but due to our indecision, as to where we would holiday at that time, unfortuantly couldn't have the room we really wanted. We ended up with room 31 which is huge - a balcony (unfortunatly we chose a windy time... More

we have just spent 5 wonderful days at the Hell Bay Hotel. We were blessed with great weather too. The team at the Hell Bay are all very helpful and friendly, making you feel like genuinely nothing is too much trouble. The room standard is very high (although proper - rather than travel -hairdryers would have made it even better,... More

My hubby & I stayed here in for 4 nights in May this year (2014). From the moment we arrived until the moment they waved us off, the staff at Hell Bay did everything right. The location is remote and beautifully unspoilt (it is quite a trek to get there from the mainland). We had an amazing room, which was... More

The journey sounded a little daunting until we found out the hotel could organise everything. They did and all went smoothly with an efficient taxi airport pick up and transfer to the quay on St Mary's for the ferry, and finally on the island the hotel mini bus completed the final leg of the journey. We found this a very... More
