We stayed in Paradors for 6 of the 7 nights in Spain and they are definitely great value and also have wonderful staff. We are Amigo members so we get the complimentary drink in the evening and normally some tapas. This was a lovely old building in a great location in the centre of the old town, which is really... We stayed here on day 8 of walking the Camino. It is located in town which is a bonus. It's a fantastic old building full of charm. You definitely get a historical sense of what life was like staying here. The down side, is that the rooms are tired, and the beds and pillows are terrible. Be aware, that if... More

I have stayed at the Parador de Pontevedra twice for business trips and find the old buildings beautiful and the interior well preserved and decorated to match the building with heavy chandeliers and dark wooden furniture in authentic Spanish style. You feel like you are in an old castle or monastary. The employees at the hotel are all very friendly... More

Pontevedra we visited for the first and last time. It joins the “new” Antequera on the list of only two Paradors to which we will never return. Parking is a nightmare. There are ten places and, once the car was parked, we abandoned it for the three days we were there. We asked about parking - the alternatives are a... More

I liked this place. Fodor’s described it as a haunted house and I thought that was a bit harsh. But later I thought it does have that look…but it’s a way-cool haunted house! Example: the stairs in this bldg. are strange, not a single set of stairs to the 4th floor, but at least 3 different sets of stairs. Quirky….... More

Parador de Pontevedra We stayed here for three nights in early August. It’s a wonderful old mansion of a building, with a sort of labyrinthine design and a lot of beautiful old furniture and nice art on the walls. As with other paradors I’ve stayed in, it has quite a number of sitting rooms scattered about. The location is excellent,... More

the paradoe is in the middle of the ancient town, this one is actually in town (a lot of paradores are out of town). 20min walk from the station (thank you smart phone!), but it allowed me to get a first taste of the gorgeous centre. Beautiful builfing, really nice room and decent sized bathroom. very kind check in and... More

Having read some recent reviews on this Parador, I think some travelers need to be more realistic. All the Paradors in Spain are in historic locations, often in the middle of cities and/or historic sites. If you want a big parking area for your humvee, don't go to a Parador - the monks in the middle ages were more modest... More

We were very disappointed by our stay here, which was meant to be a highlight of our tour of Galicia. It was a Saturday night and the management had taken on a large wedding and a communion party. It was lovely to see the locals in festive mood, but unfortunately no thought seems to have been given to the comfort... More

Stayed here as part of a group visit. faded grandeur. Check in for 16 people took forever as did the dinner service, ever with a preordered set menu. Food was ordinary and had clearly been left standing in the kitchen some while. No lift to first floor. Narrow streets to access. This hotel does not live up to its pretensions, or... More
