The Parador in Tui is the perfect retreat if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. Situated right on the Spanish/Portuguese border (and offering easy access to the local town in each country), the Parador benefits from being away from noise and close to the tranquillity of the Miño river. We were surprised to be upgraded to the best room... More

We arrived here within 5 minutes of walking across the border from Portugal. Incredible setting right on the Rio Mihno. Very nice and simple rooms and mine had its own outdoor courtyard. This is a must for a Pilgrim to treat themselves while walking the Camino.

A friend and I were walking the Portuguese Camino to Santiago de Compostela and having stayed the first three nights in Albergues, we spotted the Paradore de Tui, having just crossed the bridge from Portugal. It was like a Mirage! We checked it out and checked in. This was just what the doctor ordered! The bedroom was perfect, it was... More

When it rains and rains, and your child is a teenager a luxury stop is worth extra, especially if the teenager gets his own room. This way we got two views, one towards the river and one from the corner "suite" towards the town and cathedral. Have travelled a lot in Spain, and this view beats nearly all rustique and... More

We stayed at this Parador because it was on the Camino de Santiago route, and convenient. The rooms were tired. The beds not terribly comfortable, and the pillows, like all of the paradors we stayed in, terrible. The bar was small, and don't order a Martini. You will get Martini & Rossi on the rocks. The food was nothing great,... More

We spent a week in Spain and stayed in Paradors for 6 of the 7 nights. This was our first and it was lovely, really good service, nice garden sitting in the sun overlooking the river which is the border between Spain and Portugal (worth a walk over as there is a citadel just in Portugal). The Parador was very... More

I have stayed in a number of Paradors and I am left with the thought That they are trained to give poor customer service. Without fail 'indifference' is the norm. Until, I experienced a level of negativity when staying at this Parador. We arrived at the hotel having walked the Camino from Porto. We needed to find out what time... More

Stayed for one night in April. Hotel very pleasant and service quite good. Our room was on the ground floor and we had a small private garden to sit in and enjoy the evening sunshine. Had a very pleasant walk along the river bank to the old town and enjoyed the scenery. The pool was closed, but it was April and... More

Palacio Parador is a really great Palace. Location, surrounding, the house itself just breathtaking. The weather was unforunately not that good, we had lots of rain and it was windy. So the place, its really an old Palace was a bit chilly and moisty. But in the summer with warm weather its for sure better. Service was ok, breakfast good,... More

This was my first stay in a Parador and I already knew it wasn't going to be the most stunning architecturally (there is stiff competition from the nearby Baiona balanced on the edge of a headland with the sea crashing around it!) But Tui Parador is nice enough. It's quite a grand building and has a lovely restaurant with huge... More
