We've been to Les Roches Rouges twice. 20 years between the trips, and we loved it each time. This is NOT a standard international hotel. Our room was on the top floor, and there was no lift in that part of the hotel. The furnishings are basic, a bit like a student room, but the vew!!! It was stunning, as... More

Hotel Les Roches Rouges is a 2 to 3 star hotel on the main road from Porto to Piana. The ground/ lobby area is spacious with very agreeable views. We had booked rooms with garden view, however their parking area also doubles as their garden. Our room looked dirty and dated with a lot of dust on the shutters. There... More

This hotel when built in 1919 must have been stunning, there does appear to be a refurbishment programme in place but this appears to be limited to the dining room and reception at present. When we arrived from the outside we thought it was derelict and were not certain that it was open, our spirits lifted when we got inside... More

The setting is breathtaking! The hotel is charming and is perfectly located. Would recommend the rooms with the view otherwise not sure its worth it. The hotel would have been perfect if it was neater.

Those who suggest the bedrooms in this hotel need a make over have missed the point - it is supposed to be like this! Generous sized room with huge amount of storage but we regretted not having paid the small extra supplement for a room at the front. Good bathroom. No fridge like most French hotels. Downstairs is magnificent and... More

As our friends in-the-know advised us, we just had to stay at this hotel if we passed through this part of Korsika ! And reserve well in advance to get a sea-view room. The owner probably puts in 18 hour workdays and her energy level is only matched by the dedication and professionalism of her staff. By being unique and... More

The guide book said the views were stunning but a twisty 20 minute journey on from Porto. Was it really worth it? Put simply, absolutely. The views from the terrace were truly amazing and stunning. The grand old worldliness of the place added to the atmosphere. We had drinks on the terrace but I have to say that it didn't... More

This charming hotel seems to invite you to step back into another era, the setting could be perfect for a novel or film from another time. If you stayed here, it would be for the experience of staying in a hotel that has had its most glorious days more than 50 years ago. With its faded charm, the hotel however... More

Our stay here resembled a time warp - this was a grand hotel in a previous era, although not a cent has been spent on it since it was built. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are good, and the views from balconies are stunning. The floors creak loudly though, meaning you hear every movement in the room... More

We were looking forward to this part of our holiday in Corsica, but it proved a real anti-climax. Be warned - the bedroom walls are paper thin: we were on the third floor (no lift, so 'enjoy' the walk up), and could hear people in the next room and experience their every movement via loud floor creaks; wallpaper peeling from...
