Karma helped me find this pretty chateau. My friend and I had decided to go hot air ballooning over the Chateau's of the Loire Valley and 1 hour drive from Nantes the original Chateau we booked cancelled our reservation made on Expedia as they had told us the Chateau had no vacancies for three weeks. My friend was panicking but... More

Usually a hotel is just the place to stay while you wait to visit the attraction. This jewel is just the opposite. While its pretty hard to compete against the famous chateaus of the Loire, this Chateau is just as much of a destination as the famous, crowded and expensive chateaus we all love to visit in the Loire. The... More

This is an original Loire Valley chateau, converted into a hotel. We stayed here for a couple days after our stay in Paris. It was the perfect setting to relax after a fast paced trip in the city. We felt as though we had gone back a couple hundred years. The rooms were clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated (think soaring... More

I can wholeheartedly recommend Chateau de Reignac. We had a junior suite (Axel de Fersen) which is the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in (it is the one with the blue bedspread and cream coloured walls). We specifically asked for it as we loved it in the pictures online. We chose the chateau because we loved the room... More

Four of us stayed here mid-week for three nights recently while we were touring the region and it was a very special experience. The place has a great sense of charm and undoubtedly reflects that of the owner Erick Charrier whom we met. The setting is very tranquil, the interior tastefully decorated and the whole ambience is very pleasant indeed.... More

The château was part of La Fayette's large estate and is a good location to visit some of the Loire castles around the area. Today, this family run hotel offers nicely renovated rooms that take you back to the time when the marquis and his wife used to come. Don't miss the statue of La Fayatte's grand-father in the chapel,... More

Live like a Renaissance noble in this chateau-turned-hotel, within a comfortable but no-frills room. Back then, there weren't mini-fridges or TVs... so your room doesn't have them either. What it does have is tall ceilings, old-fashioned furniture and hefty shutters on the Gothic windows, wide marble stairs and sumptuous salons. There is even a chapel. We found the hosts very... This Hotel was the best part of our trip to the Loire Valley. It's a 15th Century totally renewed place, with a cosy yet sophisticated feeling, the greatest staff you'll ever see and incredible food and wine. A quick drive will get you to the main castles in the Loire, and the Reignac is a visit in itself. Don't miss,... More

We have just returned to the UK after experiencing the most beautiful wedding at the Chateau de Reignac. The story was typical - a young girl wants a fairy tale wedding in France with 30+ close friends and family. With this in mind, we selected this gorgeous chateau based on the perfect package that was on offer and the warm... More

Here is a true castle not known to the masses. Hidden away, but close to many of the big name chateaux, this castle should be as famous. Not only is it a beauty, but one of its owners was none other than Lafayette, the man who went to the aid of the American colonists who were fighting for their freedom... More
