We have been travelling through France for two weeks now and this hotel was one of the best for us! We are middle aged couple!! Yes - we had lots of stairs but you are in St emilion so not surprising and the top rooms give you a view of the whole of the old village and adjoining vineyards. Our... More

This is a quaint, gorgeous property perfectly located in exquisite Saint-Émilion. The proprietor went literally out of his way to make sure we received transport to and from the location of a wine tour on a blazing hot day. He went way beyond what we expected. Bravo! Highest recommendation from this family of travelers.

Maison de la Commanderie (not to be confused with Auberge de la Commanderie) is a very comfortable, roomy, well-decorated B&B in a centuries-old building right in the centre of the one-of-a kind Saint-Emilion--all together a winning combination. Rooms on the town side of the building (e.g. Chevaliers) have spectacular views over the town which are particularly stunning at night. Our... More

We spent two nights at this guesthouse and enjoyed our stay. The room was very nice, spacious with large bed, wardrobe and sofa, but it was a little dark with just a small window looking out on to a vineyard. It was two floors up which made me puff, especially when carrying luggage. The shower room was also spacious, very... More

We stayed just one night in a Templier Suite and wished we could have moved in permanently. Location, location, location and what a view over St. Emilion town from one window and then St. Emilion countryside from the other window. The room was large, the bathroom large and well appointed and the bed very comfortable. The styling is slick and... More

I wrote this property 4 times over a 6 week period and never had one response. As a travel agent, I was simply inquiring about the commission rate or an industry rate. I have since moved on. I may go kick the tires or the front door when I am in St. Emilion in September. The good hotels in this... More

We got off to a bad start with this place – the owner wasn’t there when we arrived and we had to wait around an hour for him to come; he said he hadn’t seen the booking online as his internet was down. Same goes for the wi-fi in his hotel too – only worked the day we were leaving!... More

Had a lovely two nights here, had the top floor, absoloutly stunning, owner very helpful and accomondating, star rating should be higher, I have stayed in plenty ofof 5* hotels and this was just as good. If in the area would stay here again, room spotless, really well kept and done up to a high standard.

This hotel is very convenient, right in centre of the town, has parking nearby. We had a room on the upper floor, there is no lift. The room was a good size, had room for a settee to to sit on, one small window, which looked over the road at some vineyards. Unfortunately that is as good as it got... More

We loved Saint-Emilion! Yes, it's touristy, but there's a good reason why tourists flock there. It's so quaint and charming and just so pretty. We stayed at the Maison de la Commanderie in the Ecuyers room. If you had dreams of staying in the middle of vineyards like I did, do not stay here. From the pictures it looked like... More
