This is very much a luxury hotel in a medieval French village best known for its wine. We were greeted very warmly with a complimentary cake. The hotel rooms have recently been refurbished to the highest standard. Our room was fabulous. As it was a special occasion, we ate in the attached restaurant. Haute cuisine with bill to match, but... More

We were fortunate to eat lunch here as part of our "Bordeaux with Elodie" tour and we were very impressed. In a beautiful wisteria framed setting, our three course meal was superb. The choice of entree, langoustine or truffle risotto, pork or fish main and strawberry pistachio dessert or Cointreau soufflé or Chocolate soufflé offered a strong selection of beautifully... More

Had dinner tonight with my wife and friends at Le Zlogis de la Cadène in St. Emilion. We all picked the four course prize fixed menu with 3 wine pairings for 25 Euros extra. The food was good and elegantly presented. Service was prompt and polite and the restaurant itself was comfortable and pleasant. We all thought that the food... More

In the heart of Saint Emilion, part way down a cobbled pathway, this restaurant can be found with beautiful indoor and outdoor dining areas. Great food, great staff, a real gem. We would definitely return!

In St.Emilion itself(as opposed to the district) accommodation can be scarce. This logis is central and has attached the excellent restaurant described in other reviews. The accomodation is straightforward, but clean and comfortable. On a warm evening the restaurant setting in an outside courtyard is superb. Access to St.Emilion by train is complicated by the fact that the station (on the... More

Each summer I visit winemakers around Bordeaux, and I always have at least 1 meal at Logis de la Cadene because the food is truly amazing. Favorites are: Lot (monkfish) w/seasonal vegetables, Wood Grilled Salmon, and truly the world's best Duck Breast anywhere. Char grilled over vine shoots; juicy and tender; mouthwatering yumminess with every bite. Paired with the house... More

We had a lovely meal here on a rainy day but did find it expensive. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, a beautiful surrounding and good service. The terrine was exceptionally good, as was the beef cheeks. The steak was enormous and very tasty.

Let me start this review by saying that my stay in St Emilion has been fantastic and I have eaten at some wonderful places with great food and equally great service. My experience of Le Logis de la Cadene was disappointing. In fact, I cannot review the food, service or atmosphere because I never got the opportunity to eat there!... More

The courtyard under the wisteria vines was wonderfully inviting on a blazing hot day. We were short on time as we had to make the English language tour of the crazy monk's cave at 2 pm. The owner was understanding and we got our one plate lunch in no time. Should have blown off the tour and had dessert! Simply... More

My husband and I had dinner here in May 2012. In my travel log I wrote "dinner was superb!"..... so I decided to write a review based on what I wrote in my log book. It was too cool to eat outside under the umbrellas on a cobblestone patio with tables set with red cloths and candles :(.. but, inside... More
