The staff is local, friendly, and a joy to spend a few days with. The room was simple, not luxurious by any means, but what you would expect from an eco-lodge in the jungle. The food was better than expected. Your guide meets you and the others in your group, our group was six people, and then is with you... More

With family members ranging in age from 7 to 77, we were never looking for a 'hard core' jungle experience: what we wanted was somewhere comfortable within a couple of hours of Puerto Maldonado, where we could see some primary forest and its inhabitants. Posada Amazonas fits this bill perfectly. Pluses - decent rooms (are you really expecting The Ritz,... More

So.....Im not a camper. Im a Hilton kind of girl, but this place was realllllllly cool. If you are looking for an authentic eco experience this is it. In addition the manager was so extremely nice and when half our group ran over time for an activity the remainder of us were left hanging waiting to leave for lunch. We... More

stayed at this lodge for 3 nights. great experience walking through the amazon rainforest and getting a chance to see many many insects. my guide was Oscar who did a really good job making my group & i feel as comfortable as possible. Oscar also answered all our questions about nature/insects. Food provided was well done too. Only negative point... More

I'm a little late in writing this review. We stayed at the Posada Oct 8th through Oct 11th. The lodge grounds are pretty and well kept, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff couldn't be more helpful and accommodating. I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this trip, but I knew that I didn't want a... More

We did the 3day 2 night one and were pretty happy with the experience. The room & shower opening out to the jungle was a nice touch. The guided hikes, macaw-watching, fishing trips made it a memorable one. The one thing I will never forget is the continuous sweating due to humidity!! The food (especially for vegetarians) wasnt great (but... More

Most of the other reviews I read were accurate in describing the facilities, so I won't repeat that. I traveled with my wife and 22-year-old daughter, and our stay was the high point of our two weeks in Peru. Our guide, Luis, had phenomenal knowledge of the jungle and helped us to appreciate (and see) a variety of wildlife --... More

I don't know what I expected, but this resort was a shocker. Right after I unpacked, my toothpaste was covered with cockroaches. I slept under my mosquito net clutching my fan and flashlight praying I would not have to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. It was very hot & humid and a bugs... More

Your room has a balcony that faces the rainforest. The building is made of natural materials and has a amazon lodge feel to it. They provide a mosquito net as well. The lighting in all the rooms is done by candles or kerosene lamps. There are no individual room ceilings, so you can chat with your neighbors through the walls,... More

No-one who gives it a minute's thought, or who has done any preliminary reading, expects a stay in the Peruvian jungle to be luxurious. That's not why you go there. If your travel agent has done his/her job, having to leave the bulk of your luggage at the office in Puerto Maldonado will be neither a surprise nor an inconvenience,... More
