Unfortunately, we only had a short one night stay here and wished it could have been longer. We arrived late afternoon with the sun shining and spectacular views. Dinner was included as part of our package and was ok, but we had seen the mouth watering a la carte menu which looked fantastic with a wide variety of options. This... More

The hacienda is located in a magnificent area of the Andes, with a wonderful view of the Cotopaxi. The rooms, food and service are very good. Awesome surroundings for horseback riding, mountain bike and trekking. Definately worth the trip!

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights. The views are beautiful. Windswept highland terrain with double rainbows arcing across the vistas. Horseback riding is a must even if you are a beginner. We saw condors and wild horses. The staff are very polite and hospitable. The food is especially well prepared- 5 stars! It is a peaceful getaway.... More

We had 4 nights in the family room - a couple and our 10 year old son. It was really cosy with a woodburning stove and hot water bottles every night! The Hacienda is beautiful and in a lovely location - we could see the top of Cotopaxi from our bedroom window. We had a great guide, Santiago, who organised... More

It was an excellent weekend at tierra del volcan. There are a lot of activities to do, like horseback riding, trekking and mountain biking. What we love the most is the view, the hospitality and the food. 100% recomended!!

We stayed here on a quiet day so had the place to ourselves. The staff were very friendly & helpful and standard of the rooms was excellent. We enjoyed a horse ride & a walk the following day around the beautiful countryside in the shadow of Cotopaxi.

Hacienda El Porvenir is a welcoming and comfortable place. From the moment we arrived, we were given warm tea in front of a fire and all questions answered. The room (get the suite) was warm with a view of Cotopaxi and the valley and equipped with a nice wood stove. Warmed water bottles are placed in the bed to keep... More

The hacienda is a lovely building, beautifully decorated, in a fantastic setting. We stayed for two nights in a machai room, which was simple but comfortable. It gets quite cold, but they provide plenty of warm blankets. The living room has a wood fire and is a great place to relax. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We did... More

With blazing log fires in the elegant but traditional hacienda sitting room, hot water bottles in the bed, very friendly, helpful staff, delicious meals and a multitude of activities on offer it would be difficult to find a better place to base yourselves for a visit to Cotopaxi. Two tips however: (i) make sure you spend enough time here -... More
