We spent 2 days in Estancia Viamonte and enjoyed every minute of it. We did a couple of hikes around the property and our 2-year-old got a hands-on lesson on lamb shearing. Even though the place is quite old, it is well maintained and you are invited into a warm and cosy home. The all-inclusive package guarantees outstanding cuisine, great drinks and wine und superb service. We enjoyed a couple of most pleasant days at Estancia Viamonte close to Rio Grande on our recent trip to Argentinian Patagonia and Fireland. We found this estancia in a guidebook as we were driving from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. It is just below Rio Grande, Argentina in Tierra del Fuego. It is about 3 hours from Ushuaia so someone who wants an extension trip if they're going to Antarctica, might consider staying here. It is run by the descendants of the original settlers... More
