Overall our experience was excellent. The rooms were underwhelming but the lounge and restaurant area were fantastic. The food and service experience was excellent. The staff always helpful. The barman maitre de and waiter combined (sorry forgot his name by now) was very good, always ready to help and an upbeat person. The meals were first class and the wine... More

Beautiful rooms with plenty of space to relax in. A great lobby area with a fireplace going all the time. Wonderful staff & delicious food cooked with fresh food from the garden. Amazing views if you're willing to make the trip go up to the Blue Lagoon!

My husband & I stayed for 6 nights - we should have stayed longer! - and thoroughly enjoyed every facet of the Helsingfors experience. The serenity of the place is magical and soul-cleansing but the heart & soul of Helsingfors is its staff. Every single one of the staff could not have been more attentive and made sure our stay... We stayed for two nights and had a fabulous time. We did the trek to the windy point and the full day of horseback riding to the blue lagoon. This was the highlight of our stay. The guides, Christian and Gonzalo are fabulous and very patient. The food was to die for and we enjoyed sitting in front of the... More

This hosteria has only 9 rooms and is great for the trekiking type. They have 2 guides, 2 dining room staff, one receptionist, a maid and wonderful chefs. There are only 3 things to do at Helsingfors- trek with their guide or solo, horseback ride with their guide and eat. There are no water sports (even though their web site... More

What a magical 3 days we had here. First night we were the only guests and were treated fabulous well. Though the ambiance might have been different if the lodge had been booked out to a large group. Our first day we did the 24km hike to Laguna Del Moro which was superb. It was hard going and not for... More

Of a nearly three week hiking trip, and changing hotels every day or two, Helsingsfors emerges at the top of my list for accommodations, food, and setting. How do they do it in the middle of nowhere? Luxurious bedding, the best food of all the meals I had (BBQ lamb and chicken, salad, grilled vegetables, Malbec and the next night... More

Great food, actually some of the best we had on our trip. First rate service. Good cocktails. Took the horses up the hill one day and then hiked to the top. Magical. The mountain was shrouded in mist the day we were up there. It was still beautiful, but we want to see the glacier and so have a good... More

If you are traveling to Patagonia and want to be off the beaten path in a gorgeous location far from civilization but in a very civilized hotel, this is the place. It's 91 km for a dirt road but on the drive we saw rheas, guanacos, eagles, condors, and even a grey fox. Once you reach Helsingfors you still have... More

This Estancia was a massive disappointment and this is the first negative review I have ever left on Trip Advisor as I hate critizing people but apart from the wonderful drive in our jeep from El Calafate and a good location, I personally think that you can't charge USD1421 for one night and offer us cold food (which didn't look...
