Our experience was very nice. We stayed in a double room (which turned out to just be a room for 5, with 3 of the beds staying unused. It was clean, nice and, what really mattered to us - very well located in terms on both travelling by bus and climbing Masada in the sunrise like everyone does. Overall, a... More

I loved the location under Masada. I loved that they had it all arranged for people to hike up the snake path to watch the sun come up on top. I loved the amazing pool in the desert. I loved that the rooms (this is hardly a "youth hostel"!) had a balcony over looking the Dead Sea, and a small... More

For those that travelled often and stayed in hostels you probably expect a very poor quality, dingy, stuffy facility. This location is NOT even remotely close to a "typical hostel". For those that go to Masada to wake-up early, hike and experience the sunset you should definitely select this place given it's at the base of the mountain and near... More

Surprised that this was a hostel. It's really more like a motel. Rooms are simple but very clean and beds were remarkably comfortable with air conditioning and wi-fi. They even have a swimming pool on the one deck which was AWESOME after being in the ridiculous Negev desert heat and floating in the dead sea all day..... Also a really... More

This is the best place to stay if you are doing the sunrise climb of Masada. Step out the front door, walk just a short ways to the entrance gate across the street, and you ready to go! The lobby and porch are great. There is clean water available outside the front door. The hotel rooms are clean and spartan.... More

Great location to climb Masada for sunrise and be back for the breakfast (served till 9:30). Dorm room was very spacey and immaculate clean. Great variety of food in buffet breakfast. Only a few power outlets and one bathroom is not enough for 10 people in the room, fortunately I was alone :)

This hostel maintains the standards of the really good Israel Youth Hostels - the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, and the design is such that it is easy for a group of friends travelling together to share a family room. At the foot of the cliffs on top of which is the truly amazing Masada site,... More

This is really a schools facility with s few private rooms added on. Beware If you think you will have a quiet desert experience you may be very disappointed In the facility groups are largely unsupervised and with the origin and nature of some of the groups its going to be very noisy evening and through the night In fairness... We choose this place on our way to Dead Sea, so we did not check it very well. We were surprised for so nice place with wide choose of food on the breakfast and the morning view was fantastic. The hostel is near to MASADA which I strongly recommend to visit. It was super great! :-) Our stay there was... More

My wife and I took a private room, which was basic, but clean and comfortable. Best place to start an early (i.e. 5:30 am) hike up Masada. The hike takes 45-60 minutes and is a significant walk but I'm 69 and had no problem. Sunrise is very nice from the top. The room is not inexpensive, but if you're going... More
