We spent 2 nights at the Idlwilde Inn and enjoyed very much. We stayed in Room 1. It was a smaller room, but the bed was very comfortable, the room very quiet. The only minor drawback was the small shower size and lack of shelf space in the bathroom. We enjoyed our wine and cheese in the gazebo each night.... More

It is a wonderful place. The property is beautiful, the view is scenic. The house is extremely well kept. The owners put a lot of effort in restoration and it shows in every detail. A place that takes you away from busy daily life and probably moves you back in time a few dozen years. Great location - easy walk... More

My husband and I, plus a small group of our friends, recently spent time at this charming Victorian home. The hosts are very personable, and made our stay quite pleasant. The breakfasts were outstanding each morning, and the staff did an excellent job with preparation, presentation, and service. We learned much about the history of this home from the owners,... More

Stunning views of the lake in a beautiful historic home. The hosts are wonderful, warm and friendly and the location is perfect! The inn is a two minute drive from the center of town where there are plenty of restaurants and activities. This is also an ideal location to access many of the wineries. We stayed in the master suite... More

Great hosts and fabulous views. Rooms were clean and breakfast is outstanding. Our second time at the inn was a multi-state reunion of friends. Maria made everyone feel welcome and shared many stories with us about the inn's history. We plan to go back again!

A beautiful historic house on lovely grounds with great views of Lake Seneca. We stayed 3 days midweek and enjoyed very personalized attention from Maria and John. They have taken a Victorian "summer cottage" keeping it's original character, while updating it to make it light and comfortable for today. Their advice on activities in the area was just right for... More

We stayed here for a long weekend trip and found the property to be beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Maria was a gracious host and we loved hearing stories and history about the property and village. The only feedback we have is that the breakfast was average.. Good enough but not gourmet, if that's what you're used to. The other downside... More

Recently, my wife and I spent three lovely days at The Idlwilde Inn. The room was superb and the owners and staff were competent and professional. Each morning, our days started with an excellent breakfast. The Watkins Glen area has a variety of interesting things to do (the many, many wineries, the racetrack, the Glass Museum in Corning, a fabulous... More

We have stayed at B&Bs all over the world and this one is our favorite. Beautifully restored 1892 mansion and carriage house with 16 unique rooms. There is something for almost every budget. The majority of the rooms have their own bath. We stayed for 4 nights in Room 6, the master suite. Wow!!! A very large bedroom, a parlor,... More

After booking first and then looking at the reviews we were considering cancelling our reservations. The inn keeper isn't nearly as bad as some of these reviews would have you think. Maria was funny, friendly and very helpful with recommending things to do and wineries to visit. The house and the grounds are beautiful. We had a view of the... More
