Having hiked this area twice in the last 25 years when vacationing in the area, we, again, chose to hike this park along with another couple. Although there are many steps which are now a bit difficult for my wife, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. We stayed at the Glenora Winery which is only a few miles north of the... More

This is gorgeous scenery, and by taking the bus to the high point and walking down to where I left my car, it was a very easy place to visit. I highly recommend it! It's well worth it to visit the Corning Museum as well, when one is in the area.

My wife and I took our two children, boy 11 and girl 13 here in July. We had heard that the area was amazing, and it did not disappoint. This park was located very close to the walking and hiking trails that explore the Watkins Glen gorge, and what an amazing experience that was. The park itself was clean, quiet... More

We were pretty much the only campers here the day after labor day. Felt like it was all ours. It rained all night but there were plenty of trees to make sure our rainfly didn't get hammered. Walking from your campsite to the gorge is awesome. What an amazing camping trip.

This campground is a very reasonable distance to many attractions. Staying here allows you to access other state park while you have a valid park permit. The glen is a beautiful hike. We were travelling with 3 small children so we decided to park at the upper lot and walk down the glen and then my husband took the shuttle... More

We tent camped here for three nights in the beginning of August. The camp sites are clean and have plenty of room for set up. The Bathrooms however are another story...they were far and few with serious upgrades needed as most of them look like the last time anything was serviced or replaced was the mid 70s. The cleanliness (as... More

I spent a couple nights at this park camping during the wine festival weekend. This was my second stay at this state park and I wasn't disappointed. Great facilities, clean washrooms/showers and safe. I had a great time with friends I had met up with both the Fri and Sat. I would highly recommend both the wine festival and this... More

Never have I seen such disgusting showers in a campground. I have camped for years in many state and provincial parks, and I'm no pansy, but this one really disgusted me. Also, couldn't find a hot or even warm shower the whole week we were there. Apart from this, the pool was great, the sites were good, and the location... More

We stayed at Watkins Glen in mid-June for one night. I'm used to Michigan State Parks and the NY state park system would be wise to send their administrators to Michigan to see how it's done. The campsite itself was fine with the exception of the picnic table which was in an advanced state of decay. What really blew me... More

We recently returned from three nights at Watkins Glen State Park. My husband and I have visited the park several times in the last ten years, to hike the Gorge Trail and swim in the pool. Since we loved both of those attractions, we decided to reserve one of the rustic cabins, located on the Oneida Loop. Overall, we had... More
