We can here for a mini vacation and had an absolute brilliant time. The view was stunning everywhere you looked. We hiked about 5 km and walked up over 800 steps. We took so many photographs and will post later. My suggestion is that you take drinks and snacks you since it's a. hike. There are. garbage bins located throughout... More

Bathrooms were well-lit and clean enough. The campsites are obviously not all the best location-wise. We were Onondaga loop site 199. I'd have chosen a site on the other side of the road. Their camps didn't back up to others. We had a triangle of campers around us. But, again, it's campsite camping, you cannot expect absolute privacy- be a... More

Okay so camping at Watkins Glen was interesting. First off we were booked in the Tuscarora Village site 268. The major issue with this site: it sits about 100feet away from an active train track which comes through around 8pm and 1am. The train literally feels like it's coming through your tent. The sites to our left were even closer... More

The gorge of Watkins Glen is a must-see hike. I've been here several times and I am amazed not only at the beauty of the gorge itself with the cascading waterfalls and high cliffs, but also at the engineering feat of the trail itself. I am amazed that stone pathways, tunnels, and bridges were carved into this gorge. Not surprisingly,... More

Watkins Glen State Park is beautiful - the amazing waterfalls and gorges make you feel like you're in a movie!! The only downside was that it's a tourist trap! there were SO many people on the Gorge Trail - it was hard to get any good pictures without people in the background. Where we stayed in the campsite (Seneca Village),... More

The deep and narrow gorge is accompanied by man-made path along it. Enjoying the former would not be possible without the latter. Both are amazing and make worth traveling a fair distance to see it. There is a nice picnic area and a swimming pool near the gorge thus combining multiple pleasures is easy here.

If you are spending time in Watkins Glen, the state park/gorge trail is a must see. The trail is a few miles long (many steps up or down depending on where you enter the park), and the view is beautiful with many waterfalls along the way. There is a small parking fee and a shuttle bus ($5 per person) at... More

We'd reserved pitch here on one of the quieter loops to find on arrival it was completely waterlogged and uninhabitable so we ended up pitching on the non-reserved loop which was quite noisy during the evening. The pitch was a good size and the bathrooms and showers acceptable. Easy for the glen if that's what you're here for!

My husband and I had a short hike from the inn we were staying at to come upon a glorious park with spectacular views of waterfalls and rock formations. This park is a gem. Restroom facilities are available which were kept clean with a snack bar on sight. The trails were clearly marked. We had the opportunity to hike the... More

This place is very beautiful. The walking paths are great and make for an easy walk/hike through. Many beautiful waterfalls along the way. Great way to spend a day. The bathrooms are beyond horrible so plan ahead for that.
