We stayed at Watkins Glen in mid-June for one night. I'm used to Michigan State Parks and the NY state park system would be wise to send their administrators to Michigan to see how it's done. The campsite itself was fine with the exception of the picnic table which was in an advanced state of decay. What really blew me... More

We recently returned from three nights at Watkins Glen State Park. My husband and I have visited the park several times in the last ten years, to hike the Gorge Trail and swim in the pool. Since we loved both of those attractions, we decided to reserve one of the rustic cabins, located on the Oneida Loop. Overall, we had... More

Went camping here for the weekend. Our site was wonderful there was a stream next to it and a trail that led right to the gorge. The park office let us choose our site out of what was available. This was before peak season so it was not packed site wise. It was clean, employees were nice, the showers were... More

This was our family's first camping trip in New York, and I couldn't have been more pleased! I did my research first, and I am so happy I chose this campground. It is one of two options in the immediate vicinity of Watkins Glen. Out of curiosity, we drove past the other campground while in the area to see what... More

We stayed one night on a tent site, and the rest of our family stayed in one of the rustic cabins. A forewarning, the cabins are pretty rustic, i.e. no electricity. The windows are relatively small. This made sleeping in the cabins during the hot nights pretty difficult since we couldn't get a good cross breeze. However, the size of... More

One of our favorite vacations! The campsite is incredibly clean and beautiful and right outside the park! We will be back. If you have children it is perfect for them. I don't have anything left to say but Tripadvisor says I need two hundred characters so I am just going to keep typing until that happens

It was an easy hike with breathtaking views. We went with two children (ages 12 & 9) and they did not complain about the hike once! So picturesque! Take the map they hand out to avoid going in a big circle like we did. :) You get a little wet as you pass behind the falls. It would be nice... More

Recommended by friends, we were unprepared for the beauty of this place - or more particularly the Gorge - a 1.5 mile walk up and down steps and along the flow of this set of waterfalls and flowing water. A welcome escape from the heat with a pleasant temperature for walking. Underfoot can be slippy and there were puddles across... More

Don't miss this! We expected a state park with walkways and lovely waterfalls. Instead, we experienced an incredible adventure. As soon as you enter the park, you begin to interact with a winding pathway of steps while surrounded by waterfalls and impressive rock formations. The ground is wet and slippery so wear good shoes and take your time. The gift... More

Recently stayed at this park and camped for 2 nights. Park employees were very friendly and helpful. Campsites were clean, groomed and had a nice, rustic feel to them. Our campsite was in the Mohawk area so we had electricity and we were near the clean bathrooms. Of course, the Gorge was the main attraction and it was amazing. It... More
