It's funny how sometimes good things just happen. I was with clients visiting a property close to Sauveterre de Rouergue when hunger struck. I had remembered a little restaurant on the edge of la Baside and suggested we should go there. Horror of horrors, it was closed and the closest reasonably priced eatery was 20 minutes away. Then my client... More

We were totally unaware of the fact that Michel Truchon is a star chef as we agreed that we would dine during the evening of our stay.I say this because the restaurant and wine list prices may come as a surprise to the unsuspectingHaving said that the meal was superb.Service was first class and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal.I ordered... My parents and I were visiting South West of France (we live on the easernt side), and a friend of mine had told me about this place. I was stunned by the quality of the food and service, probably worthy of the most renowned chefs and restaurants in France as far as I know! A culinary experience I recommend to... More

A warm welcome greeted us upon arrival at the motel, the staff were friendly and helpful. Shown to our room we were surprised how large it was and how nice the facilities were, comfortable beds and pleasant surroundings. Only thing I really could have done with was a shower screen as showering without one made it difficult to keep the... More

Le Senechal is one of those special small hotel/restaurants run by the Chef (Michel Truchon) and his wife and family. The Chef is creative and the service is correct. We had dinner two nights and though the written Prix fixe menu did not change, we were given additional options for the second night, so no need to duplicate. Two glasses... More

My husband and I visited Le Senechal in May of this year (2013). The village of Sauveterre is absolutely charming, quiet and restful. Our hotel accommodations were pristine. We travel a lot in France, as I used to live there, so we are accustomed to excellent restaurants. The dinner we enjoyed was beautifully presented with a very interesting and imaginative... More

This restaurant was recommended by an aspiring chef after we were unable to get a lunch reservation at Le Vieux Pont in Belcastle. The dining room decor is a "less is more" design that I thought was uninteresting. There was only one other table occupied, so it just seemed kind of cold rather than lively. They have a patio, but... More

Sauveterre is tucked away about 15Km off the N88 Rodez-Toulouse road. It is a pefectly preserved 13thC arcaded village and well worth the detour. The Senechal hotel is a smart, newish hotel, just outside the ancient centre. It has been designed for effect and lacks warmth, though the lady who acts as receptionist and waitress is friendly enough. Our suite... More

Beautiful hotel in a remote little village with absolute peace & quiet. Very modern rooms to a high standard. Had dinner outside on the terrace in the evening- wonderful food & service. Do not miss breakfast at any cost- one of the best i've had!
