We stayed here a few days on our trip across east africa and loved it. The service was great, the views were amazing and we saw amazing animals! We hired a driver for two weeks and he new all the trails at each of the parks and was a great addition to our experience. This is a great stop, just... More

Reaching Mweya Lodge is easier through Masaka rather than Fort Portal; amazing location of the Lodge - on top of the peninsula overlooking either side of the lake; you may be stuck behind slow moving elephant traffic to reach the gates of the Lodge; lovely rooms over looking the lake - the sound of Kampala traffic get replaced by the... Coming from staying a week at smaller lodges this was a location based choice but one that was a pleasant surprise. Our arrival saw both warthogs and the "Band of Brothers" Mongoose Family greet us and as stated the elephant Rampant and the view form the lobby area really shows off the location to a stunning level. The rooms were... More

Thank you for your positive review and we are extremely pleased to hear you had a wonderful time at Mweya Safari Lodge. In your review you mention "fly investations" and for the information of other readers these are in fact what are known as lake flies which are harmless small bugs that during season are attracted to the lights at... When you walk in the lobby you are slammed by the most gorgeous view of Lake Edward (George ?...hhhmmm). I had read the reviews that stated this was more like a motel so I was a little worried because the group I was traveling with, Adventures for Singles, has had a very bad track record lately, but this place felt... Arriving at Mweya it is an amazing sight. The Lodge staff are very welcoming. The rooms are a decent size, clean and our room had a lovely view of the Kazinga Channel - the hippos, elephants, buffalo just bathe in the edge of the water. The pool is lovely - over looking the river too, the food was good, the... More

Can't comment on the rooms at the Safari Lodge, but the food, drinks, and setting are fantastic. I stayed with family down the road at the Mweya Hostel (very basic but cheap accomodations). Safari Lodge was a perfect place to relax at the end of long bumpy game drives, have a drink, and watch the suset over the lake. Beautiful.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in July 2011. The best feature of this hotel is the location. It is located on a hill overlooking the Kazinga channel and from the hotel there are amazing views of the channel and surrounding lakes, You can see herds of elephants coming down to the water to drink. There are lots of little... More

Don’t get me wrong, Mweya is a very nice place in an excellent location within QE National Park with a stunning view over the Kazinga channel. What more could you ask for than to have your meal and watch elephants and buffaloes quenching their thirst and bathing across the water? (quite a common occurrence apparently). My issue is that although... More

When travelling in Uganda - I was fortunate to select a Uganda based tour company Nature Track www.naturetrack-expeditions.com and truly was able to get a taste of the country, culture and all of the local flavors. My tour guide/drive Tom was a like a Nascar driver - he was able to navigate the most difficult roads to get to our... More

My friend and I visited Queen Elizabeth in July, staying at Mweya Safari Lodge. It was full to the rafters, so it felt busy - not that exclusive, perhaps. This was outweighed by the glorious views over the lake, and the high quality of service. I cannot fault the staff in any way; they made the stay what it was.... More
