It was my third time at this beautiful lodge with a breathtaking view. This time I forgot my waka waka power. And when you live in uganda a wakawaka is really nice. To my surprise the lodge sent me an email the next day that they found the wakawaka and how they could sent it back to me. While I... More

Katara lodge has a truely spectacular view of QENP and the rwenzori! You get this view from your cottage, the pool and the restaurant/bar area. At night (if not cloudy) the stars are amazing to see! Food was good, very well presented. The cottage/room was also great : clean, spacious and nice bathroom. My only issue with the room was... More

Katara Lodge gives you a stunning views over the savanna of QENP which I don't think I could ever get bored of. The main building is comfortable, spacious and gives you these great views. It was by far the nicest place we stayed at in Uganda. The rooms, which are individual cottages, are lovely and spacious. There are two beds,... More

We stayed for 2 nights at Katara lodge while we explored the QE national park. The hotel is on an incredible location, on a ridge overlooking the savannah. The rooms are beautiful and have the option of rolling a bed onto the patio to sleep under the stars which was amazing. We were booked for "full board" and had paid... More

Dear Josh Thanks for taking the time to leave a review for your stay with us. It's taken some time to respond to your review, as we discussed the issue at length internally on how to best avoid these kind of misunderstanding in the future. As a general point, we do indeed provide full board accomodation, excluding drinks. The only... More

Bad planning on our part to only be here for one night! The hideous road to the lodge is soon forgotten when you enter this oasis - a beautiful place, very stylish but friendly and welcoming. You have the option to roll your bed out onto the veranda (someone does it for you whilst you are at dinner) and sleep... More

This lodging was my splurge for Uganda - indeed my entire month trip in East Africa. A shame it was only for one night, as I would have preferred several. I remember before even planning safari, I had read about the sky bed and was determined to experience this. Unfortunately a couple of factors deterred the experience, but neither was... More

From the moment you enter the gated entrance, the feeling is 'this is going to be good'!! ...and we were not disappointed. A warm welcome by the staff, and everywhere you looked it was beautiful, from the crafted woodwork, everything well maintained and clean, and beautiful finishes . The room we had was spacious, lounge area, two beds(and the one... More

Our cottage also had incredible views. When we arrived at the lodge, there were two elephants in the distance walking towards the trees. Unfortunately our cottage was a long ways away. When returning to the lodge, we had to walk uphill on a lot of steps. It wasn't dangerous just alittle difficult. Out cottage had a great shower and tub.... More

Katara lodge is superbly located on the a ridge overlooking Queen Elizabeth National park. The view is outstanding. There are only about 8 chalets and each one has a superb view. The chalets are well equipped .Each chalet has two double beds .One bed is on rollers so that you can sleep out under the stars if you wish. There... More

The Katara Lodge was one of the highest point of my summer trip to Uganda and certainly deserves my most sincere praises. Just wonderful! Spectacular setup and views, with a well appointed room and spacious bathroom, delicious food, and nice swimming pool. I wish to thank the staff for their warm welcome and attentiveness to detail. I only wish we... More
