I had booked 2 nights through Hostelworld. The taxi was waiting for me at the airport and then took me to Adam's Inn - about 100m away from Princess Salme Inn. I was told it was the annexe of Princess Salme which was fully booked because of a music festival in the town. My room was basic and clean and... More

We had a pleasant stay in this hostel for about one week. The breakfast is very good being fruit, drinks and warm dishes. The beds were a little to short for me but that a general problem in Africa. I can only be critical about the location of the hostel. Located near the fish market may at times be a... More

My friend and I stayed there this September. Don't be put off by the small alleyway leading up to the entrance. Although it was basic, it was great value for money, the staff were extremely friendly and the roof terrace had a great view. They also feed you up at breakfast! Would definitely recommend it and it was just a... More

We chose poorly on this one - just needed a place to crash for one night before heading up to Nungwi and thought this one would be all right despite some bad reviews in the past. Recent reviews had been much better. Anyway, rooms were basic but fine, terrace was nice, free internet on their computer (no wireless) but my... More

We were greated by the amazingly friendly staff who were extremely helpful throughout our stay. Clean room, few mozzies, nice breakfast, good location - close to both ferry and town centre - all within walking distance.

We chose this hotel because the price seemed good for Stone Town. Sometimes you get what you pay for. My room was tiny. The two twin beds filled almost the entire space. We could barely squeeze between them to get into bed, let alone find a place to fit our bags. Luckily we were only on an overnight trip from... More

If you are looking for good value for what you pay for, Princess Salme is definitely for you. For only $20USD/night, you get a very comfortable room, with your own bathroom (with hot water... yes... hot water). The staff are EXTREMELY nice. Princess Salme is run by a family and they bend over backs to ensure that your experience in... More

My mother and I stayed at the Princess Salme during our stop in Zanzibar a couple years back. It is a little rugged, but you should have everything you need to be comfortable. The rooftop is amazing. The I could not say good enough things about the staff. Specifically, the owner himself will be able to help you with any... More

What can I say than that the staff is tremendous. I accidentally brought my key with me to Dar, but the manager happened to be there so he took the car to my accomodation and picked it up, no punishment handed out:) So friendly and open, they really took care of you. And the breakfast was tremendous. The rooms was... More

When we arrived the first time we were welcome as friendly as we would be old friends, may be because they realized that already our daughter were here 3 month ago. All the time e very lovely and kind staff around you, that’s just fantastic. Of course there may be more luxury accommodations in Stone Town. But you ever will... More
