Decent rooms, good location, but very disappointed in the staff. It is usual that you bargain for your prices in east Africa. But we were charged double afterwards for extra services like laundry and transportation.

We arrived to find out that the B&B was nothing like it had been described it's advertisements. It is down a back alley in front of a fish market and looked nothing like the pictures shown. It was pretty dangerous and even the taxi driver didn't want to take us there and leave us there. After we arrived, they immediately... More

As I only wanted to stay Stone Town for a couple of nights - I decided to pick a no frills hotel. A couple of days is enough to see Stone Town, afterall, you're in Zanzibar to see the beaches aren't you? This is a very basic hotel so don't expect too much. Clean rooms - daily cleaning - mosquito... More

BUdget accommodation in the heart of Stonetown. Very conveniently situated. Just a short walk from the Ferry terminal. One can access most of the facilities in town on foot. The food market, restaurants, clubs and shopping facilities all within close proximity. The accommodation is clean. Mosquito nets are provided. The rooms have fans (no air conditioners). You have access to... More

First impression when the taxi dropped was...is it really here? as the entrance is a bit hidden away, however as we got to reception our uncertainties were met by an extremely friendly and helpful receptionist which told us all we needed to know both about the hotel and stone town. 5* welcome! The breakfast was average (fruit could be better!)... More

We absolutely loved this hotel. It is only a five minute walk from the ferry (although you do have to look for it well as we found no sign, just ask around I'd say, no use for a taxi if you arrive by ferry). We stayed here before and after our trip to the north of Zanzibar, and stayed a... More

This was our fourth stay at the Princess Salme Inn, and I must confess my review is biased by the simple fact that I like the place and its staff. Every time my wife and I have been received and taken care of far better then in many posh hotels. The place is simple but adequate and extremly clean. The... More

Friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable room. Good location. Good breakfast. Good wifi. Safe - some reviews say they found the location unsafe, but I felt as safe here as I did in any parts of east africa. There are the usual hawkers but they were fairly polite and did understand no. Also, I used the laundry service and... More

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, had a/c and a fan. We stayed 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay. the laundry-service was good, the breakfast was very good. the staff was really nice and helpful. They offer almost all tours you can do on Zanzibar to decent prices. We were asked everyday if our room needs... More
