I stayed at the Princess Salme Inn for two nights in August. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I negotiated a fare with a taxi driver in the reception area and then went to my room (the price was as other people had said was reasonable on this site). The lady from reception came to my room and told... More

Such a lovely place to stay! The staff were so helpful and could arrange excursions or transport for you without any hassle. There is also a lovely terrace providing a gorgeous view of the sea which also had unlimited free tea and coffee for guests. The rooms were lovely and the air con and fan were more than sufficient for... More

So it's not the Hilton - it's Zanzibar! An old house belonging originally to one of the relatives of Princess Salme. Sure it's old but it's authentic. Here you get the feel of history. If you want something fancy then go elsewhere. It is not right in the middle of Stone Town but about 8 min walk from the Forodhani... More

A very nice room in a traditional house a "stone's" throw from the ferry terminal. Exceptionally helpful staff, great breakfast on the roof terrace that doubles as an honesty bar. A fraction of the price of the glitzy places..what more can you need?

I had a very nice stay at the hostel. Rooms are clean, beds are good, airconditioning was very nice to have too. Staff is very friendly and willing to help you with all your requests. Breakfast is served and is delicious, including free tea/coffee. only thing is the location/street of the hostel: is a little bit dodgy/not much light when... More

Located 4 minutes from the ferry dock, 10 Minutes to the beach boardwalk. The street looks a bit dodgy at first sight, don't be put off. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, staff is friendly - aircon and safe available. There is a rooftop terrace with fast wifi and free tea and coffee. The staff will pack breakfast for you... More

I liked this little hotel. The owners were kind and laid-back. Clean rooms, simple and decent. A/C worked great. Breakfast was totally fine with a beautiful view. Great location. I like that they keep the fridge unlocked so you can grab a few beers or water and pay them when you check out. Relaxed feel to the place. I'd come... More

Would sincerely think again, much better options nearby. Nothing wrong with the service but the place is located in front of a vacant lot, the place looks like it should be condemned. The inside is very baron and the back room from the lobby was left open and we could see people sleeping on the floor. The manager, in all... More

Some of a reviews we've red said that there is a fish smell from a market but that is not true. Breakfast is fantastic, and homemade passion juice is something... More

We stayed here for 3 nights having had to move, at short notice, out of our room (next door) at Warere Town House due to bed bugs (despite this we would recommend Warere before Princess Salme; they are the same price but Warere is better quality in every way, especially breakfast). Rooms are reasonable although the showers were generally impossible... More
