I enjoy adventure trips with a few days of relaxation and reflection in a beautiful place at the end. I hit it right on the nose with Fumba Beach. A beautiful peaceful small resort, friendly and personal. The location, huts and main area are very picturesque. We were there in the low season so it was quiet and private but... More

We booked about 5 nights at Fumba Beach Lodge in late May. It was low season so there were very few other guest. Our room was wonderfully positioned right on the beach so you were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves. The rooms were generously sized and well mosquito-proofed with a bed net. Alas, the weather was... More

This was a welcome break after being hassled by hawkers and the seedy heat in Stone Town. It was our honeymoon and they made it extra special for us by giving us a special dinner of locally caught lobster, and we had our final breakfast on the viewing platform at the top of their mammoth baobab. Our waiter even made... More

Staying at Fumba Beach Lodge was the perfect way to end my trip to Zanzibar. I was traveling with two friends and we had booked a triple occupancy room, but upon arrival, we learned that we had been upgraded to three separate rooms with beach views! As the hotel had availability, it decided to upgrade us. The rooms were quite... More

This lodge is out of the way - not even a local shop in walking distance. We had just climbed Kilimanjaro so happy for the isolation and quiet pace of the area. The lodges were large and allowed lots of privacy and and the ones on the front row look right out onto the sea. Food, and atmosphere in the... More

The perfect hideaway for couples, families or others - you will fall in love with the atmosphere and the rustic designs. Look forward to the 5 course dinners - in various spots - also go for a walk around - the tropical gardens and the short but cozy butterfly walk is highly recommended.

We did not have the opportunity of staying at the lodge, but were given a tour of the rooms and they had a lovely atmosphere and privacy. We took their snorkelling and island visit excursion on a dhow. The crew and Tammy were very friendly and even added a trip to the sandbar as a suprise. After great snorkelling we... More

Stayed solo for three nights. Very nice place - beautiful gardens and pool area, beach (even if swimming is only possible at high tide and with protective shoe wear), restaurant. Bungalows are simple but very pretty - only things missing are better mattress and linens as well as AC to keep away the mosquitoes. But the little veranda and hammock are... More

This is a really nice place for people, who like to relax and feel at home in a calm, beautiful holiday hotel. We read the reviews here and expected less, but staying at Fumba Beach really surprised us with an warm, easy going atmosphere. The hotel might not be the fanciest on the island, but it has charm and is... More

We stayed here recently and really loved it. We got the Baobab Suite, usually reserved for honeymooners, but we were glad to have it for a few days. Firstly, the thatched cottage has an outside jungle bathroom, set around a 1,000 year old baobab tree, which really has to be seen to be believed. Sitting on the balcony which overlooks... More
