Absolute pleasure staying at Fumba Beach Lodge!! The staff are very friendly, though their English is a bit 'rusty'.. They all come from the village close by so I suppose that is understandable.. Still I respect Fumba for employing these people and giving them a chance to work. The food was great! A huge spread in the mornings for breakfast,... More

We enjoyed our 4 nights at Fumba Beach Lodge - a very pleasant break at the end of the year in a pretty Zanzibar location - lovely beach, wonderful snorkelling, perfect pool, sea views, swimming and close enought to Stonetown for a good day's visit. The ensuite rooms were clean and the service was very welcoming and friendly at all times... We were grateful that Fumba Lodge not only tolerated small children, but liked them and provided food that they liked. We stayed at Fumba Lodge for 10 nights, with 8 adults and 10 children between 14 and 2. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic at all times. Their English wasn't always up to standard but I believe that they are... More

This lodge is in an incredible location, on the quiet south west with its own beach and stunning sea views and sunsets. The pool is gorgeous and the beach clean and inviting and we had a great week... but we also felt badly let down in several ways during our stay. On the plus side, we had a great couple... More

I stayed at Fumba beach lodge for three nights with my husband and a few friends. This was my fourth trip to Zanzibar and first time at Fumba. The food was delicious and the staff are really friendly although a bit slow when it comes to service. However, several of us experienced leakages in our bathrooms and we witnessed one... More

Stayed at Fumba Beach at the end of October 2011. Pleased to get a get a room right by the beach rather than being set back. Management was attentive and helpful throughout and staff were friendly. Some were exercising their English but this fitted with what we had read about the lodge's relationship with local community. Others here have talked... More

My wife stayed here for our honeymoon for a total of 7 nights. The lodge is in a fantastic location and is very quiet and chilled as it's off the beaten track. The rooms are spacious and the views are excellent. The staff are superb - friendly, helpful and we even had dinner in our room prepared by one of... More

This was a much larger resort than any of the others I stayed at and was not as luxurious, but the food was delicious and the dive shop was brilliant. I am stubbornly independent when I snorkel and, as there were no other snorkellers on the boat, the guide just let me wander and followed to keep me safe during... More

We booked our trip with Eco & Culture Tours and they did an amazing job. Robert from Eco & Culture Tours handled all lodging, and we stayed at the amazing Fumba Beach Lodge. He also arranged a spice tour with lunch, stone town walking tour, our ferry tickets, and transportation whenever we needed it. Our tour guides were wonderful, as... More

Fumba Beach Lodge is without any doubt a great place to relax, we stayed there for one week following the advice of a travel agent. The garden is superb, and they really took most advantage of it by creating several small and romantic place for you to sit or eat. Rooms are clean and nice (basic but who needs more... More
