A very comfortable, clean, and friendly place to stay, close to all conveniences and the old town. We stayed for three nights. The breakfast was a highlight every morning, and if we were ever to return to Stonetown, this is where we want to stay!

This modest African hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Stonetown, next door to Tembo Hotel. The location of the hotel, the rooms, the roof terrace breakfast and not at least the very friendly personnel made our stay terrific. Abuso is more like a home than a hotel. No one will mistake the Abuso Inn for the Tembo (a luxury hotel nearby), but it's 80% as nice for under half the price. It's a family-run establishment, and everyone is very accommodating and pleasant. The hotel is well located, we got a room with a nice view to the sea. The staff is friendly. The room was nice. The major problem is the breakfast, that besides not being very good, sometimes takes time to be ready.

We arrived late one Friday afternoon on the ferry with no pre booking and wandered through Stone Town checking out the various hotels and their pricing. We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at the Abuso Inn. Room was big, comfy, with hot water (once the switch turned on) and mosquito net. Breakfast not fancy but enjoyable and sufficient. Great location to wander around in Zanzibar town. The owner was really nice and took care of us with a good sens of humour.
